We had the music blaring as soon as it hit 6pm. Alex had gone to the shop earlier and bought a load of drinks and frozen pizzas that we were going to cook later. We weren't kidding when we said we were going to celebrate before tomorrow's Rendezvous. It's something we used to do back in the academy, when someone was going to go in their first mission, before graduation, anything complicated that was a risk we would celebrate. And at these celebrations Alex and I never really spoke, he would hang out with his friends or his current girlfriend at the time while I would make small talk with my peers. I was never in a social group I was a lone wolf who was just there. There was one day when Alex and I spoke. The day before his first out of the country mission, he threw a celebration and everyone was giving him their congratulations and best wishes. I was there but I was mostly there for the drinks.

I remember I was sat by the bar talking to one of my peers Theo, he also happened to be one of Alex's close friends. He was a good looking guy at the time, chocolate brown curly hair, green eyes, muscular body and a smile that could win a million hearts. You could say we were flirting that night, he was sat very close to me his hand resting on my knee as spoke to me. At one point he leaned in to kiss me but was interrupted by someone speaking out loud.

"This is a pair I never thought I'd see." Alex said to us, his eyes burning towards Theo then to me only for a split second. "We're supposed to be celebrating me, not hiding in the back sucking face." He added.

"I'm sure your egos been feed enough compliments and attention tonight." I replied, leaning away from Theo. I noticed Alex's eyes look down to Theo's hand on my knee then he looked at the bar in front of him. He got a drink and turned to us. I thought he was going to make a snarky remark but he didn't, he just raised his glass to Theo and left. I assumed he was giving Theo the 'go get lucky' sign but I wasn't 100% sure. I didn't see Alex the rest of that night but I did see him the morning after, when Theo and I walked out of his room after spending the night together. I never picked up on the look on Alex's face until now. As i sat on the bar stool looking at the three of them sat on the sofa.

I looked over to Alex, he had a bottle in his hand as he laughed at something Joe said, Zoe laughing a long with them. I smiled to myself basking in the happiness and warmth that was coming from this room right now. I looked back to Alex and locked eyes with him. He winked at me before going back to the Joe. While Joe still struggled due to his injuries but that didn't stop him from clenching his stomach and laughing. You'd think being injured the two of them wouldn't be drinking tonight but here we are.

I grabbed my drink and made my way back to the group, sitting on the same sofa as Alex. Zoe was sat crossed legged on the single arm chair and Joe on the adjacent sofa. "What's so funny?" I asked placing my drink on the side table.

"We're playing never have I ever." Zoe said smiling. "I just said never have I ever had sex in a public place and these two drank their drinks." I close lipped smiled at Zoe before bringing the drink up to my lips. She let out a gasp widening her eyes at me. "You too?" She exclaimed. I shrugged my shoulders averting my eyes to the window on my left. "Joe it's your turn." She said.

"Okay." He said taking a dramatic pause before he began. "Never have I ever..." I looked at him as he took his second pause. The drunker joe got the more his fun personality came out. "Never have I ever..." he smirked then looked at Alex. Alex rolled his eyes, almost encouraging Joe to say his worst. "Never have I ever slept with siblings before." His smirk still on his face. Alex, slowly but with no fucks given drank his drink.

"Please tell me they weren't at the same time." Zoe said face palming herself.

"Of course not. I'm not sick in the head." Alex said shrugging.
