"Julia! You made it!" Charlotte screamed after opening her front door, she opened her arms and gave me a hug swaying me to the side a bit, once we pulled away she gave Alex a hug too. "You guys are one of the first ones here actually." She said sounding a little too happy.

"Did we beat Ruby and John?" Alex asked by my side. "Julia mentioned you wanted us before them."

Charlotte laughed moving to the side to let us in. "You made it here before them yes, but no my brother is here early too." I walked and Alex followed.

Charlottes house was big, just like ours and every house on this street. We were stood in the front foyer, she had wooden floors that echoed under my heels her walls were a light beige colour  with a number of photos posted on the walls. They had their staircases to the left and to the right was a long corridor. By my left there was an open archway that lead to what looked like the front room and opposite that on the other side of the wall was another archway that lead to a room with a large dinning table, I assumed that would be where we would be seated today.

A man I had not met yet emerged from the dinning room, a glass of what looked like scotch in his hands. He was tall, his hair was a light shade of brown almost chestnut, he had piercings green eyes that you could spot from a mile away. He was definitely young, around our age. "Hey sis, do you know where mums serving bowls are?" He walked up to us, his body turned to Charlotte. Come to think of it they did look familiar, same nose, same eyes same jaw structure the only difference was the hair and their height.

"Hey guys this is my brother Colton." Colton looked over to Alex then down to me where he raised his eyebrow. "Colton this is Alex and Julia my neighbours." He didn't look away from me, it wasn't until Alex cleared his throat next me that Colton looked away, he extended his hand to shake his hand uttering a hello. Then he brought his hand out to me, I shook it giving my best hospitable smile. "I'm Charlie's brother." He said, his hand lingering longer than I had expected, I had to gently tug my hand back to my side.

"Nice to meet you." I replied, "I didn't know you had a brother in town." I said turning back to Charlotte.

"He's visiting from Florida, right Colton." She said looking up to him. "Believe it or not the sap missed me too much." She nudged him on his side while Alex and I let out small laughs.

"I didn't miss you, I missed your cooking that's all." He replied ruffling her hair. "Have you guys ever been to Florida?" He asked us both but his eyes trailed and stayed on me.

Yes we have been to Florida, for a mission to assassinate a middle eastern spy sent to kill a senator back in 2010. "No I've never been, but Alex has and is always promising to take me." I said looking up to Alex. After our debate back at home we hadn't really spoken to each other, that was until the drive here. Alex stood next to me his eyes on Colton as if trying to read him, when I mentioned his name he looked down to me.

"Yeah, I went a couple years back, amazing place."

"You should definitely come." Colton responded, straight after Alex spoke as if he didn't listen to what he just said and was responding to me. "Next time Charlie comes home come with her."

"Oh my gosh you'll love it guys! The beach the hikes we can go on the food! Definitely! You should come." Charlotte said smiling excitedly. I couldn't help but smile with her. "Colton the dish is in the kitchen in the top cabinet by the wall, I'm going to show Alex and Julia around."

Colton looked down at his sister before looking down to me again. "I'll see you guys later then." He sent me a wink before walking back into the dinning room. His sister didn't see him wink at me, Charlotte was in the process of turning around, but Alex did.
