Right be warned this part has not been updated...so apologies in advance for any mistakes and random sentences that don't make sense. I wrote this quick. With that being said....
Twenty-Six
"Thank you for agreeing to help me." I said wiping the remaining tears off my face. We were still stood by the fireplace, him holding me in a comforting manner. I hated to admit it but I liked it when he held me. After letting out a small laugh he leaned his head down to mine, resting his forehead on mine.
"How queasy did you feel asking me to help you?" He asked a big smile forming on his face. I moved my head back, looking down at the logs and rolling my eyes before looking back up at him.
"Can we move on from that?" I said leaning my hands to the side. "We have bigger things to think about right now."
"I know..." he said before laughing again. "We'll get to that serious stuff later, come on humour me."
"Alex."
"Julia." He called my name in the same monotone I used. "I think I'm growing on you." He said half smirking. I squint my eyes at him, trying to figure out why he would think that. "Well for starters you ask me for help, you would have never done so if this was a few months ago."
"That's because I'm desperate not because I like you."
"I never said like, I said growing on you." He said in a snarky tone. I rolled my eyes. I don't know why I was entertaining him. Was it partly because he was able to distract me from the shit that was happening around us? "So...you do like me then?"
"I don't know where you're getting this information from." I took a step to the side, ready to walk away but he shifted to the side too, bringing us back to the same close proximity we were before. "I'm slightly regretting asking you now."
"I'm not." He said his smirk growing by the second. "If you really didn't like me you'd do this all alone and not care to ask me. So.." he inched his head lower to mine, I had to lean back a little from just his close he was. His minty breath was blowing in my face. "Why did you ask me?."
At first I didn't respond. Did I like him? I didn't dislike him anymore, I may think of him as a friend now but that's it. "Why did you agree to helping me?" I asked now turning the question to him.
He shrugged his shoulders, not fazed by the question. "I am helping a friend." He said in an almost whisper, he looked down at me lips for a second before looking up, he did it a second time, making me unconsciously look at his. Before I could look up to him, he leaned his head down to mine, his lips pressing onto mine. I was stunned at first, and didn't kiss him back but within seconds I moved my lips against his. A burst of butterflies exploded in my stomach as felt his warm hands on the side of my face, bringing our faces closer to one another, if that was even possible. The kiss was slow and gentle, he lead the kiss, his mouth opening and nibbling on my bottom lip. At the tingling sensation I let out a small sigh wrapping my hands around his neck. I opened my mouth too, deepening the kiss, letting our tongues explore one another. I found myself smiling slightly as we kissed. I tried to fight the thought in my head but it made me lean back slightly, take a few breaths and look at him, a smirk on my face. His hands that were once placed on my face we're now resting firmly on my waist keeping our bodies pressed together.
"You kiss all your friends like that?" I asked trying not to laugh. He chuckled before leaning down and kissing me again.
"Not...all of them." He said, breaking away slightly then kissing me again. "Only the special ones." That did it, that one sentence suddenly brought the room temperature higher. He pressed his lips on mine once again, but I pulled away, arms still wrapped around his neck.
