Miranda is healed completely, after a long healing process. Taylor and Miranda have been working hard in the bedroom, and finally have a positive pregnancy test; or 5 positive pregnancy tests, they wanted to be Absolutely positive that they were pregnant.
"I still can't believe that I will have a bump soon." Miranda said, still getting used to being pregnant; only being pregnant for 3 weeks. "I still can't believe the test was positive." Taylor said. "I can't believe we are starting our family." Miranda said. "Me too!"taylor said, kissing her.
They headed out the door, they both had to be on set for Chicago Fire.
•On Set; behind the stage•
"Are we telling them today?" Miranda asked Taylor. "Telling us what?" Dick Wolf asked. "We are now." Taylor said. Miranda took his hand, "we're pregnant!" She said. "Congratulations!" Dick Wolf said. "Thank you." Miranda said. The cast and crew clapped and hugged them. "Congratulations!" Monica said. "Thanks girl!" Miranda said. "I'm happy for you both!" Derek Haas said. "Thank you!" Taylor and Miranda said. "Quiet on set." Said director Brenna Malloy said. Everyone got quiet.

Taylor and Miranda rushed out of the door for they weren't late to their first ever appointment with Doc and Mel, since finding out they were pregnant.
Once they got to the office, and back in a room; "congratulations! Shall we take a look at this little baby?" Mel asked. "Yes please!" Miranda said. She was so excited to see her little bean. Mel started the ultrasound. "Miranda, Taylor, I'm sorry, I'm not finding anything." Mel said. "I'm not pregnant?" Miranda asked. "The test or 5 said she was." Taylor said. "No sign of the baby on the ultrasound, I want to have Doc come in and take another look, I will also take some blood." Mel said. "Okay!" Miranda said. Mel went out of the room, went to get Doc.
Mel and Doc came back into the room, "Mrs. And Mr. Kinney, Mel has informed me what's going on, I would like to take a look myself, if that's okay with you." Doc said. "Of course." Miranda said. Doc started the ultrasound, he also found no baby. "I'm sorry, I don't see a baby either, we can however, double check with a blood test, and a vaginal ultrasound." Doc said. "Yes please." Miranda said. Mel took some blood and sent it for testing, then started the vaginal ultrasound. "I still see no baby, let's wait for the blood test and go from there." Mel said. "Sounds good." Miranda said. "Is there any way all 5 test could be a false pregnancy?" Taylor asked. "It's unlikely." Mel said.
After the blood work came back, "Miranda, Taylor." Mel said. "Your blood work also came back positive." Mel said. "I honestly think it's just a little to early to see on screen, come back in 2 weeks, and we'll see what we can see." Doc said. "Thank you." Miranda said.

Over the last few days Miranda has been very sick, not being able to move out of bed much, she can't hold down food, she can only drink water, symptoms like she just had surgery over again. Doc and Mel said it could just be her body reacting to her being pregnant, and if it continued to come into the office and they would do more test to see what was going on. They stayed home for another few days, to see if it would pass.
•the next week•
Miranda would be about 18 weeks pregnant, and should be able to see the baby on an ultrasound. The my went to the office to get checked, Miranda still wasn't feeling the best. Mel did a check up on her.On examination, her pulse rate was 96/min, blood pressure was 90/54 mmHg and she appeared mildly anemic. Abdomen was soft but diffusely tender. There was no guarding, rigidity, or palpable mass. On speculum examination, the cervix and vagina were healthy. On vaginal examination, the uterus was anteverted, bulky, mobile, and nontender, and bilateral fornices were free. Her urine pregnancy test was positive. On an ultrasound scan, the uterus was found to be enlarged with an endometrial thickness of 10 mm; bilateral adnexa were normal and free fluid was present in the abdomen. A sac with a live fetus corresponding to 17- to 18-week gestational age was seen attached to the inferior surface of the liver. "Miranda, Taylor; it seems that you have a healthy baby boy." Mel said. "Why can't we see him?" Miranda asked. "This is a different case you don't see every day, your baby is growing on your liver." Mel said. "On my liver?" Miranda asked. "Yes, I've delivered a baby on the liver before in LA, your baby will have to be delivered in the next few days or he and you both could die." Mel said. "Do whatever to save me and the baby." Miranda said. "That is my main goal." Mel said. "Lots of time in the NICU and healing, but you and the baby have a huge chance of living." Mel said. "Okay." Miranda said, nervously. Taylor took her hand, and kissed her forehead.
They made an appointment for a week to go in and get the little dude out and send him straight to the NICU.
•At the House•
Miranda laid on the couch, still amazed that their was a baby growing on her liver. "Can we name him?" Miranda asked. Taylor walked over to her from the kitchen. "Of course we can." Taylor said. They thought about names, and Miranda thought of a boy's name she liked since she was a little girl. "Ashton Blake Kinney." Miranda said. Taylor smiled, "it's perfect." Taylor said. "It's crazy, there is a baby growing on my liver, how is that even possible?" Miranda asked. "I'm not sure, but it's happening." Taylor said. Miranda got lots of rest, like Mel and Doc said to.
