Ashton Blake is now 6 months old. He loves blowing raspberries, sitting alone, rolling on the floor, mommy, daddy, and grandma Pam. He dislikes teething, changing clothes.
Tonight was the first time Taylor and Miranda were leaving Ashton for more than an hour.
Ashton was spending the day with Grandma Pam, and Taylor and Miranda were spending the day together alone.
Grandma Pam walked through the front door. "Hi mom." Taylor said. "Hi son." Pam said. "Thank you for watching him, momma." Miranda said. "Of course, anytime." Pam said. Miranda handed over Ashton. "You be good for Grandma." Miranda said. Ashton smiled. Miranda kissed his head, and hugged Pam. Taylor kissed Ashton, and kissed his mom's cheek. "We love you." Miranda said. "We love you too." Pam said. Taylor and Miranda walked out of the door.
"Are we still going to Jack's bar? Mel's husband." Miranda asked. "Is that what you want to do?" Taylor asked. "I'd like that." Miranda said.
They headed to Jack's bar, they took a seat, and ordered their drinks. "Miranda, Taylor! How are you?" A lady said walking over to them. "Mel, hi." Miranda said, talking to their nurse practitioner. "How's little man?" Mel asked. "He's great!" Miranda said. "Where is he?" Mel asked. "With grandma." Miranda said. "Mommy and daddy free time." Mel said. "Yeah." Miranda said. "Ooh, this is my husband Jack." Mel said. "Nice to meet you, Jack." Miranda said. "These are my clients, Miranda and Taylor." Mel said. "It's nice to meet you." Jack said. "Would you like to join us?" Miranda asked. "Sure, why not." Mel said. They grabbed their drinks and sat at the table with them.
"How old is he now?" Mel asked. "Six months." Taylor said. "We actually need to make him a six month check up." Miranda said. "Yes, just call the office tomorrow." Mel said. "After this we are heading to Waveland Bowl if you want to join us." Miranda said. Jack looked at Mel and nodded his head. "Sure! We would love to." Mel said. After a few hours, they took the same car to Waveland Bowl.
They were all on a team, "Mel, what do you say girls against guys." Miranda suggested, wanting to put her husband up for a challenge. Mel nodded. "You two are on!" Taylor said, shaking Miranda and Mel's hand. "You're on." Jack said, nodding. "First team to 65 wins." Miranda said. "Deal." Taylor said. Jack nodded. "What about the loser?" Taylor asked. "The losing team has to buy the other team drinks, for the rest of the night." Mel said. "Deal mrs. Sheridan." Jack said. "You're on Mrs. Kinney." Taylor said. "You boys are going down." Mel said.
They had a guys team and a lady's team.
"Taylor you're up." Jack said. "Get a strike." Jack said. "No pressure." Miranda said. "Haha, very funny." Taylor said.
He got a gutter ball. "Good job." Miranda said clapping, and Mel joined her clapping. "That was your fault, you said no pressure." Taylor said. "If we get it, we win." Mel said. "No pressure." Taylor said.
Miranda grabbed the bowling ball and threw it, she knocked down all the pins. "Strike." Miranda yelled, hugging Mel. "Congratulations." Jack said. "Damn it!" Taylor said. "Are you okay? It's just a game." Jack said. "I have to hear about this for the rest of the night." Taylor said. "We won, you lost." Miranda said. "Good try." Mel said. "Good game boys." Miranda said. "Well, thank you." Jack said. "What can we get you girls to drink?" Jack asked. "I'll have a White Russian." Mel said. "Are you joking? I always want someone to drink one with me, but no one ever knows what it is." Miranda said. "Really?" Mel asked. "Yeah." Miranda said. "Me too." Miranda said. "Tay, get me some water too, please?" Miranda asked. "Of course." Taylor said. The guys got them the drinks, and they sat around and drank their drinks and talked.
After about an hour
"We should get home, your mom probably wants to go home, and we have a sweet boy to go home to." Miranda said. "We have to do this again." Mel said. "Absolutely." Taylor said. "Next time bring your little one." Jack said. "Will do." Miranda said. "One thing, can you drop us off at the bar to get our car?" Mel asked. "Yeah, of course." Miranda said. They dropped Mel and Jack back off the bar and went home.
They walked through the front door, and walked into the living room, and found Pam sleeping on the couch. "Leave her." Miranda said, in a whisper. Taylor grabbed a blanket and covered her up, and kissed her cheek, and whispered "goodnight mom, I love you."
Miranda checked on Ashton, and got into her Pjs, and climbed into bed.
•The next morning•
Pam let them sleep in, and she took care of Ashton. Taylor rolled out of bed around 9:30 and went to get a cup of coffee. "Thanks for watching Ashton." Taylor said. "Of course, son. Anytime." Pam said. "Thanks for waking up with him this morning too." Taylor said. "I was up anyways." Pam said. Miranda joined them downstairs. "Good morning." Miranda said. "Good morning." Pam said. Miranda grabbed a cup of coffee, Pam put Ashton down and he crawled to Miranda; stood up and pulled on her shirt. "Good morning, sweet boy." Miranda said, picking him up. He smiled at her, and she kissed his cheek. "Momma do you want some coffee?" Miranda asked. "No, thanks, I'm going to take off! Thanks for letting me sleep on the couch." Pam said. "You were sleeping when we got home last night, didn't want to wake you, next time, feel free to go to the guest bedroom." Miranda said. "Thank you." Pam said. "We love you." Miranda said. "I love you too." Pam said.
Miranda walked over to the kitchen table, and sat down with the baby on her leg. "Before we do that again I need a few months." Miranda said. "Yeah I know." Taylor said. "Remember when we used to do that every night?" Miranda asked. "Does that mean we are old?" Taylor asked. "No babe, it just means we have a kid, and can't do that anymore." Miranda said. "At all?" Taylor asked. "Just not as often." Miranda said. "It was a lot of fun though." Taylor said. "Agreed." Miranda said. Ashton started to get wiggle, Miranda put him in his bouncer.
She called the office to get his 6 month check up scheduled.
After they laid on the couch watched Ashton play and watched a movie.
