Miranda and Taylor got a babysitter, and were going on a date night.
They were sitting on the couch, all dressed up, and waiting for the babysitter to arrive. She had texted Miranda and told her she was running about 5 minutes behind. There babysitter they personally know, Kara Kilmer, someone they felt like their kids were safe with, and knew they would be taken care of. She knocked on the door, Taylor let her in.
"Mommy, are you and dada leaving?" Addy asked. "Yes baby, me and dada are going to do dinner, you and bubba are going to stay here with aunt Kara." Miranda explained. "I want to come with you, please." Addy begged, her separation anxiety started. "You are going to stay here with Aunt Kara. Mommy and dada will be back before bedtime, Kara is going to order you all a pizza, you are going to play, I'm sure aunt Kara will play with you, maybe if you be good she'll give you some ice cream after you eat pizza, and when we get back we can snuggle and watch a movie before bed." Miranda explained, calmly. Adalyn nodded. "Mommy and dada love you, and you be a good girl for aunt Kara." Miranda said, giving her a hug and a kiss, taking Taylor's hand. "Bye bye mommy and dada." Addy sniffled. "Bye baby." They both said, as they started to walk out the door. "Thank you, Kara." Taylor said. "Of course." Kara replied. Taylor and Miranda walked out to the car, Taylor opened, and closed the door for her once she was in.
Addy sat by the window, and looked heartbroken, "They're not coming back." Adalyn claimed. "I promise they are, they will be back in just a few hours, would you like to play with dolls, or something?" Kara asked. "Dolls?" Addy's face lit up. "Yes ma'am, I'll play with you." Kara said. Addy stood up, walked to her room, grabbed a few baby dolls,brought them downstairs, and started playing with Kara. Ashton stayed in his room, playing video games.
Taylor took Miranda to Steak 48, they both were having filet mignon, with a glass of sangria. They talked about their marriage, and kids.
"Is there anything we can do to help Addy with her Separation anxiety?" Taylor questioned. "Keep our promises, when we tell her we will be back before a certain time make sure we are back." Miranda said. "You think it will get better?" Taylor asked. "I do, with time." Miranda said, sipping her wine.
Back at the house, Kara ordered a pepperoni pizza, and it was delivered. "Ashton, come eat some pizza please." Kara shouted. Ashton ran downstairs, "Yes ma'am." Ashton said, sitting at the table, after grabbing a slice of pizza from the box. Kara made Addy a plate, and herself and sat at the table.
"When is mommy and dada coming back?" Questioned Addy. "In about an hour." Kara responded. "Okay." Addy said, eating her pizza. "Can we have ice cream after we eat pizza?" Addy asked. "Yes ma'am." Kara said. "Why you gotta ask so many questions Addy?" Ashton wondered. "Because." Addy told. They both finished their pizza, Kara made them each a bowl of ice cream, and gave it to them. "Thank you, aunt Kara." Ashton said. "You're welcome bud." Kara said. "Thank you." Addy said, shyly. "You're welcome,baby." Kara said. After Ashton finished he went upstairs, and went back to his game. Addy ate half of her ice cream, put the rest in the sink, went to sit by the window on the floor, and looked out it waiting patiently for Miranda and Taylor to arrive back home. About 20 minutes passed and they pulled into the driveway, "they're home." Adalyn shouted. Taylor pulled into the garage, went around the car and opened her car door. They both went inside, "mommy, dada!" Addy yelled, and ran to them. "Hi baby." Miranda said, bending down and picking her up. " Your back." Adalyn said, with a big smile. "I promised we would be back before bed." Miranda said. Taylor handed Kara some cash, "Thank you, how were they?" He asked. "They were wonderful." Kara said, grabbed her stuff, said her goodbyes, and left. Taylor got the trash together and sat it down, "Ashton Blake." Taylor called, Ashton walked downstairs. "Take the trash out, please." Taylor told his son. "Yes sir." Ashton said. Miranda got Addy into the bath, and while she was in the bath she got changed into comfy clothes. She gave Addy a quick bath, put her in Pajamas, and they went downstairs. "Can we watch Lion King?" Addy asked, as she snuggled with Miranda on the couch. "Yes baby." Miranda said, turning it on. Ashton walked to Miranda and started cuddling her too, Taylor sat next to them, wrapping his arm around Miranda. Ashton and Addy quickly fell asleep. Miranda sat with them till the movie was over, Taylor took Ashton to his bed, and Miranda took Adalyn to her bed.
