Ashton's 6 month check up
Today Taylor and Miranda were taking Ashton to Mel and Doc's office for his 6 month check up. Miranda put Ashton in his Winnie the Pooh outfit, and then placed him in his car seat.
When they arrived at the office, the first thing they wanted to do was weigh him. Ashton weighted 13 lbs 13 oz, really small for a 6 month old baby. Mel took them back to the room, and then Doc came in after a few minutes. "Mrs. and Mr. Kinney, how are you?" Doc asked. "We're good, how are you?" Miranda asked, shaking his hand. "I'm good." Doc said. "I want to start off by talking about Ashton's weight." Doc said. "Okay." Miranda said. "Ashton weighs 13lbs; when he should be weighing about 17lbs at 6 months, he seems to be a little behind in weight." Doc said. "How can we fix that?" Taylor asked. "Does he sleep through the night?" Doc asked. "No, he gets one feeding." Miranda said. "Okay, he's getting solids now, yes?" Doc asked. "Yes." Miranda said. "Okay, here's what I want to do; let him sleep through the night, his bottle size should be 4.5-5 oz, 2 solid meals, feedings 4 times a day." Doc said. "Okay." Miranda said. Doc did the rest of the check up, "everything else looks good, and he does have one tooth coming in." Doc said. "Thank you." Taylor said. "You're welcome, I want to see you back in 2 months." Doc said. "I'll set you an appointment." Mel said. "Thank you." Miranda said. "You are all set to go." Doc said.
Miranda put Ashton's clothes back on, and put him in his car seat. They got into the car.
"I swear everytime we come to the doctor something is wrong." Miranda said. "Nothing is wrong, he's just a little underweight." Taylor said. "There's nothing wrong with our boy, he's just a small boy." Taylor said. "We've got a small boy." Miranda said. "We're gonna have to feed him a cheeseburger, so he will get those muscles." Taylor joked. "You're so stupid."
Miranda said, with a laugh. "Wendy's?" Taylor asked, as he was starving. "Yeah." Miranda said. They pulled up to the drive through, and ordered, Miranda ordered the Grilled Asiago Ranch Club, and pub fries, and strawberry lemonade. Taylor ordered the pretzel bacon pub Cheeseburger. They headed home.
Miranda put Ashton into his crib since he fell asleep in the car seat. She then went downstairs and enjoyed her chicken sandwich, and Taylor enjoyed his pretzel burger.
