Sam's POV
The man who delivered the parcel left as soon as he explained whose order to send it to me. I was quite intrigued by how my grandfather managed to keep it from everyone. From what I can recall, he has vast connections, and that includes the underground. Somehow, I was convinced by Aphrodite to let her sleep in my room since she remembered that it was comfy that she can sleep within seconds.
I was back in the library, in the room where I found my mother's letter. Sitting down, I grabbed a knife from the desk. Please don't ask me why it is there; I happen to find it sitting there. Once the seal was broken, I removed the cover, which revealed a brown wooden box. The seal carved on top of it gives me a sense of familiarity.
Then an idea popped up in my mind. I took my mother's letter and noticed the same seal. My hands shook in anticipation as I opened the box. Taking out the things inside the box, there was a gold key, a note, and a ring. My eyes widen in surprise as I noticed that it was the ring that my grandfather always wear.
"I thought this was buried with him a long time ago?" I said to know one. Slipping it on my left middle finger like how I remembered my grandfather wear it. Then I took the note and read it.
The flower blooms in the midst of the harsh environment. This flower bloomed for a long, and it's time for you, dear, to continue the legacy. There might have been a conflict between my sons, and the greed from one of them overcomes greatly that I fear it might destroy everything I've built. Little one, remember that I'm always at your side.
I remembered grandpa warning me about greedy people who wanted our money. It is probably one reason why the will was not yet discussed, and my father built his own company from scratch. My uncle's greediness took both of my parents' lives and made my life miserable as to what a child must not experience.
Picking up the golden key, I put it inside my pocket before heading back to my room. I hope Aphrodite is already asleep so that I don't need to answer her questions. I would be sure having a hard time telling her the truth. Once I got inside, I locked the door and heard the shower running. So I guess she's taking a bath.
I quickly changed to pyjamas and a white shirt. Then, I hid the key inside my study table just a few feet away from my bed. When I heard that the shower was not running, I headed back to the bed and laid down.
I heard the doorknob wobbled, and a knock followed. Frowning in confusion, I got up to check who it was and was surprised that it was Aphrodite. Then, I heard the door from my bathroom opened. It revealed a figure of a woman in her towel, which is my girlfriend.
What the fuck?! I was totally not expecting this.
"Hi, love. Who's at the door?" I heard the older woman smiled at me as she towel-dry her hair.
"Oh, it seems like you have company for tonight," I heard Aphrodite said with a complete poker face look. This is not good.
It didn't take for the older woman to approach the door and opened the door wider to see who was outside. Aphrodite's deep green eyes focused their attention on the woman beside me. Can this be any more awkward?! Please, someone, dig me a grave and bury me alive.
"Oh! I remember you. You're the girl who we competed within the party," Amanda pointed out. Aphrodite gave her a fake smile before waving at her. I can say it's fake because I've seen that when we were kids, and she always shows it when she's low-key pissed.
"Yes, it was good competition. I wasn't expecting Sammy to dance that well since she wasn't active when we were kids," her smile turned towards mine.
