Chapter 20: Wrapped Around

When Aphrodite and I got inside the home cinema, I saw all of them already settled down in their seats, getting comfortable. I noticed that they left two seats in the middle. My eyes quickly looked at Toni because I knew she mostly plays cupid. Her eyes were quickly diverted back to Ally, and I cursed under my breath. She was really the one who suggested that.

"Hey, Sam", one by one greeted me.

I went upstairs and handed the tapes to the worker assigned there before taking my seat. I noticed that there were some snacks and drinks ready near our seats. Some of them were my favourites. Okay, relax, Sam. Just keep your cool. Settling down, I let out a deep breath and got myself to relax. Despite that the movie was starting, I could hear some snickers nearby.

Aphrodite was sitting right next to me, and I'm sure I spotted her friend somewhere. I noticed that Rose was sitting with someone just above us. Her looks were quite familiar, and I realized that it was one of the Meyer siblings! Damn, I couldn't believe she snatched the girl quickly. I'm not sure, though, if it was the younger or the older one. I leaned sideways, and Aphrodite turned her attention to mine.

"Where's your friend?" I asked with a low voice.

"Hailey?" she paused for a while. "She politely declined Ally's offer because she said that she had family matters to attend to. I also wanted to, but she told me to come on behalf of her," she whispered. I nodded as I understood her situation.

I decided to watch some comedy movies just to lighten up the mood. Getting admitted to the hospital was not in my plans when I got back here. Everyone laughed as we watched 21 Jump Street. Those two actors really got good chemistry, in my opinion. I was not looking when I decided to get some snacks when I felt my hand on top of someone. My hand quickly backed up in surprise, and all of a sudden, my insides felt tingly. I looked to my side, quickly apologizing.

"It's alright", she waved off with a nervous chuckle.

I took the gummy worms and slowly started eating them. It's not that I don't want to eat it, but too much sugar in the evening is not good. In the middle of the movie, the room was starting to get colder, and I felt my seatmate started to shiver.

"You okay?" I looked at her in concern.

She was rubbing her hands in her arms as she nodded quickly. I stood up from my seat and told her I'd get back. I went to the storage room near the home cinema and asked the maid for a large blanket. She told me that there was only a single blanket left since most of it was still in the laundry. Taking the blanket from the maid, I got back inside and spread the blanket around the shoulders of the shivering girl. I heard her muttered thanks as I sat back on the recliner chair.

Despite the room getting colder, I still feel warm. Probably because I have an unusually high body temperature, I could hear Aphrodite rubbing her hands and blowing them to keep her hands warm.

"Here," I said, grabbing her hands and warmed them up using mine. She let out a sigh of relief as our hands touched.

"You're warm," she said, giving me a smile of relief.

"I get that often," I said, giving her a cocky smile. She shook her head at my antics.

"Cocky, aren't we?" She raised a brow and grinned. I shrugged nonchalantly, and silence came over between us. "Oh right," I gave her an inquisitive look. "I forgot to return your jacket," she said in a low voice, probably not wanting to interrupt others from watching the movie.

"Keep it for a while. I'll get it sometime soon," I said as I continued to watch the movie. I was disregarding the tingling sensation I'm having while I was still holding her soft hands.
