Chapter 23: safe haven

CAT's POV:

So here I am in the doorway of what I thought was my safe haven. Kelvin said we could come here after we go to the shops but I want to get it over and done with. Jake's house stood in front of me, Kelvin is sitting in the car after a lot of protesting but I thought it would be easier then seeming like I moved on so fast to Jake's parents, if it was just Jake I would get Kelvin to carry me in.
I walk up to the steps feeling as if I need to make myself breathe . I open my door with my own key and am greeted straight away by Jake's mother, well I guess my mom, or use to be. I welcome her open arms ,
"hey sweety where you been, Im glad you home. "
"um... Mom I can't stay here any more, Jake and I are over.. " I call her mom normally nowadays.
" why what happened between you too, I'm going to call him downstairs. " shit he's here.
"mom please don't, I don't want to make him seem lower to you but if you want to know why it's over ask him because the thought make me want to throw up, I will visit the family but I can't stay here anymore its too painful ." I tear up and she takes me in her arms again.
"okay love, I understand come back whenever you want or need to the family will be here for you, do you need to get your things do you need some help? "
"um can my friend Kelvin come in and help me get my stuff please. "
"no problem dear, tell me if Jake gets to you okay, and I'm free to talk anytime okay? "
"thank you, and thanks for understanding. " I go to the front door signaling Kelvin to come in. He quickly jogs out the car to me and walks in,
" um Kelvin this is my well mom for all in care purposes ,Michelle , and Michelle this is my friend Kelvin. "
" nice to meet you Kelvin. " she says and pulls him in for a hug and winks at me I swear this woman is on something, her son and I just broke up. "
"nice to meet you too Michelle" he says and chuckles .
" well lets go get my stuff. " I say and grab Kelvins arm to go to my room upstairs.
" I like her, I just don't understand how Jake turned out with a mother like that. "
"beats me... " and then as I get there Mike is running down the hall towards me, oh my gosh I'm gonna miss seeing this child everyday. He crashes into me hugging me, "hey there big boy, how you doing? "
He smiles at me and then asks, "where you been sis, I missed you. "
"I missed you too, but Mikey I'm not gonna be staying here from now on but I promise I'll take you out whenever I can okay? "
He looks like he wants to tear up but he doesn't and says, " I'm going to kill Jake I swear. " I look at Kelvin and he is holding in a laugh .
"I wish you could but you can't he's your brother alright?"
"okay. Who's this? "
He says looking at Kelvin,
"oh right this is my friend Kelvin, kelvin this is well my little chosen brother Michael. "
"nice to meet you, little man. " Kelvin says and holds out his fist to fist pump .
"same to you." Mike says with a little smile awwwww.
" Mike do you want to help me pack? "
" sure "

After that we packed my room and everything and we laughed together and joked around, it felt like a weight was being lifted off my shoulders but then it came crashing down.
"cat your leaving? " I hear Jake's voice say and see Kelvin and even Micheal tense , damn, kelvin looks good though.
"what do you think Jake, how would I be able to stay in a house with you after what you did huh?"
"but what about the family, I..they'll miss you. "
" I'll come visit them when your not around. " he stand close to me and says,
"has this prick lie to you, what has he done to make you act like this? "
Kelvin comes right by us but I push him away giving him a look to say I got this.
" he didn't do anything , I just finally opened my eyes and saw you for who you truly are. "
"you little bitch , your such a slut you have already moved on. " with that I pushed him back and punched him in the face breaking his nose. " 1. Remember your are speaking to someone with the same fighting skills. Secondly, at least I didn't move on when I was still in a relationship. " and with that Kelvin, Mikey and I went downstairs leaving Jake upstairs on the floor moaning about his nose, poor little wimp. When I see mom coming through I say, " you might need to help Jake he said some rude things and words and it was also in front of Michael so I kinda broke his nose. "
"well he might of deserved it,please be safe now, I love you." and hugs me,i turn to Mikey saying that I might take him to the arcade tomorrow afternoon and he seems excited after that Kelvin and I get into the car and drive to the mall.
