ALEX awoke the next day, his eyes adjusting to the light.

he looked around and quickly realised he wasn't in his own dorm.

he tried to sit up but his head throbbed painfully and he groaned as he laid back down.

he was in y/n's dorm.

the events quickly flooded in, he was unsure of what happened after the fight.

his head felt dizzy and he was tiring himself trying to remember.

"morning!" y/n greeted with a bright smile.

"hey" alex crocked his voice sounding raspy and strained.

y/n's smile faltered slightly upon seeing how drained alex looked though she tried to maintain a cheery atmosphere in hopes of making him feel better.

"what happened after the fight, i-i can't quite remember" alex sighed closing his eyes.

"i cleaned up your wounds but i'm pretty sure you were asleep by than, i made sure wilbur couldn't come back as well." y/n explained, sighing.

she left out a semi important event but decided against telling him.

last night alex had kissed her.

she was nearly positive he was extremely delusional from being punched in the face a couple of times.

she also... wasn't quite sure how she felt about the kiss.

of course she loved alex, but could she even love again?

she was scared.

scared to be left with nothing but a broken heart.

deciding maybe it was best to just act like the kiss didn't happen.

"i am sorry about everything" alex mumbled.

he felt awful, he didn't want to fight wilbur and felt sort of foolish for doing so but he couldn't stand the things he'd said and done.

it also hurt seeing how upset y/n was.

so overall his wounds weren't as painful as the emotional pain he was feeling for the girl he so dearly cared for.

"not fair" was her reply.

he looked up in confusion, "huh?"

"you can't tell me to stop apologising for things that i can't control if you're just gonna do the same dummy" she smiled softly.

he laughed quietly and rested his head back on the pillow.

"i guess you're right but it just kinda hurt seeing you sad" he admitted.

she felt warm, alex was truly such a nice friend.

she was scared.

scared of falling in love but it already felt like she had fallen.

she sat next to him and put her head in his lap.

"thank you for caring" she muttered closing her eyes.

he ran his fingers delicately through her hair.

he wasn't sure what to say so he decided it was best to say nothing at all but instead savour the moment.
