"For we value our true friend an unlike you we are not short on them," Kaludr spoke, and suddenly Superboy, Guardian, and Bumble Bee enter the cave, from one entrance, and from the other entrance Batgirl, Nightwing, Kid Flash, and Spirit enter.
"Hey there, Vandy." Kid Flash waved. "You miss me?"
"In all my years of being a teen superhero, that is by far the best dramatic entrance line I have ever heard, Kaldur." Spirit grinned, as she holds her staff over her shoulder. "I'm proud of you."
The team had one of their biggest missions to date, they were to break the Reach and the Light ending their partnership once and for all. Only a couple of days ago Nightwing had come out told everyone the truth, that Artemis is still alive, and that Kaldur is not a traitor and is in fact just on a deep uncover mission. Of course, people took as accepted, they were upset, but they quickly got over it and was ready for the mission, even though they were 'over it', they all truly blamed Nightwing for the lies, and no one really blamed Spirit for keeping the secret as Nightwing is the leader of the team. Only those who knew how Nightwing and Spirit's relationship, had some issues with the fact that she didn't tell him anything, but the main person that was upset with Spirit was Spark. Like mentioned before, Spark didn't understand forgiveness on an emotional understanding, she forgave people on a logical understanding, and it took all of ten hours, finally understand that someone could have gotten to the point of thinking that could think that they should keep that a secret. What Spark didn't understand is why Spirit allowed herself to keep a secret against her better judgment because she simply liked a boy. Nonetheless, Spark had forgiven Spirit, as she has forgiven her for much worst.
"Well played." Vandal Savage spoke up. "Well planned. But the Light always has contingencies." The brain started to glow, and the entrance that they came in from shut, and the ceiling behind to open. Assassins came out from the sky, landing all around them. "I've had my fill of your interference. Do not expect to survive. Kill them all." Vandal Savage order. "Superboy may present a problem but we'll deal with him when the other children lie bleeding on the ground."
"Man I hate that word," Spirit muttered.
"Still you refer to us as children." Kaldur narrowed his eyes at the leader of the light. "No wonder our successes mount. You consistently underestimate us."
Blue Beetle peels off his mask, revealing that he was one of the League of Shadows, Blue rips the suit and flies up in his Blue Beetle armor, Blue blasts several of the Reach soldiers down from the rock formations. Lagoon Boy and Beast Boy rip out of their disguises and attack the members of the Light. Beast Boy going after Mallah, and Lagoon Boy taking BooBoo. Spirit twirls her staff her hand smugly.
The assassins attacked her, "Oh, Oh." Spirit grinned, as she evades their attempts to land a hit on her with their swords and weapons. "Let's see if, I can take you down without my powers," Spirit swung her staff, landing a hit on of one the men attacking her, dropping him to the ground. "One." She then dropped to the ground, and swung her feet around, kicking the feet of another one of the men from under them, "Two." Spirit quickly got back to her, and elbow a woman behind her. "Three." Spirit then moves her hands outward, sending a blast of air out from around sending all the assassins around to fly away. "Oops, I got bored. Well, now we know it's only three."
Across the underground cave, a lasso wraps around one of the League of Shadow's assassins, and he pulled back with a grunt. Another one was punched in the face, another was slammed into by a blur, and finally, a blast of electricity was fired at them, sending them flying. Wonder Girl, Robin, Impulse, and Spark pulled off, the League of Shadow's mask, revealing themselves. Impulse sped off, and Spark turned herself into pure electricity, teleporting herself to where she saw her sister fighting a couple of bad guys.
