BELLPOND

May 13th; 20:34 EDT

Alya, James, Aidan, Sam, Dylan, and Elle were around the pond, Dylan, Elle, and Alya sat at a picnic table the three of them nose deep in their studying, while Aidan, Sam, and James were several feet away from the trio. Aidan was throwing large sticks into the air, while James blasts them out of the air with his powers. The three teens would cheer every time that he hits one.

"You do know that we have finals in less than two weeks right?" Dylan snapped at the three, who weren't studying. "Maybe you should stop messing around and sit down and get to work."

"I got it." James waves him off, as he gestures for Aidan to throw another. James shoots fire at the branch before he turns to Dylan with a smug grin. "Teen genius remember, come to think of it. You two shouldn't have to study." James crosses his arms. "You guys already know all the answers, Dean Brooks has told us on several occasions if we wanted to we could just skip, I mean Alya I don't understand why you only choose to skip one grade when you could have skipped more."

"I can ask you the same thing." Alya looks up from her textbook. "You had the chance to skip all those grades but yet you decided to remain in place."

"I stay in my grade because I had friends that I didn't want to leave, what's your excuse?" James retorts as he leans up against a tree. "What made you only want to bump yourself only one grade up?"

Alya just shrugs, "My foster mom didn't want me to get ahead of her daughter. So she didn't allow me to skip anymore grades, and when I moved in with my uncle, he wanted me to have a normal childhood or whatever so he didn't like the idea of me being twelve and a junior in high school."

"Alright, but you guys should take a break." James gestures to the mess of books in front of them. "Have some fun. These powers aren't going anywhere, might as well have fun with them."

Elle looked up from her notebook, and towards the two older teens in front of her, she slowly got up from her seat, as her cheeks turned a bright red, the blonde shyly made her way over to where Sam, Dylan, and James stood. James' grin grew, as Alya lets out a small huff.

"Fine." Alya slammed her textbook close, Dylan looked at her with a surprised expression, as Alya swings her foot around, and stands up. "But only because we agreed to help Sam, Elle, and Aidan study for their exams, and since they decided that they'll rather do this."

"You all can't be serious?" Dylan got up from his seat looking at his five friends with disbelief. "Alya, your grades have been slipping since you been spending more time with that team of yours."

"And somehow I'm still the top student in the school," Alya smirked, crossing her arms. "If there's something that I have learned this past year with these powers is that we just need to live a little. Not everything is in a book, and time is going to pass us by if we don't just do."

"Wow, when did you get all physiological?" Aidan questioned, looking slightly impressed with Alya.

"I don't know." Alya shrugged. "All I know is that I wasted too much time, being hateful and distant when I could have spent that time being with my si-cousin and uncle. And I could have gotten closer with the team, Impulse and Blue Beetle are not half bad, neither is Robin."

"I still can't believe you get to hang out with Robin," Aidan muttered.

"You could too." Alya gave him a look. "You all decided that you didn't want the League to train you." Alya sharply turned to James. "And what's going on with you, Nightwing said that you were joining the team months ago."
