"Are you alright?" Dick questioned Marie, ever since Alya was captured by Kaldur. Marie hadn't gotten a wink of sleep, and that was a lie, it was since Alya went to Uni she hadn't slept. But it worsens once she knew that Alya was gone under her watch, literally under her own nose, Alya was taken.

Dick had gone over to Marie's apartment to check up on her since she hadn't been looking her best every time she went to the cave. Marie had darkened circles under her eyes, her eyes were bloodshot, and her skin pale.

"Does it look like I'm alright?" Marie questioned her boyfriend as she looks up at him. Dick remained silent as he takes a seat next to her. "I just got a text from James, he asked me if Alya was okay, that she wasn't returning any of his texts and calls. What am I supposed to tell that poor boy, that his crush was captured by my former teammate and friend, and was taken to an unknown alien race so that they could possibly do experiments on her? Or should I also tell him that it's all okay because that former teammate is still a good guy, and we'll find, but not after she's tortured and experiment on?"

"I mean you could tell him, that you took her phone away because she went to an alien planet without your permission," Dick suggested slowly, Marie glared at him, before she pulled her legs to her chest. Dick sighed, before wrapping his arms around his girlfriend, pulling her into his side. "I know you're worried, but we're going to find her. What happen you said days ago that you trusted Aqualad?"

"I also said that I have doubts," Marie muttered, as she slightly closes her eyes, for the first time in a week finally felt tired. " But I trust Aqualad, I don't trust the people that Aqualad brought Alya to. And it's not even that, because I know she's safe with Aqualad, but... but I'm more worried about her mental state. In her mind, she just watched someone died, she then went to another planet where her friends were taken control of and she had to fight them, she then saw her uncle and confront him, she then comes home and not even a day later, she's kidnapped. That has to do something to a person, Dick. Alya isn't like us." Marie opened her eyes, and pushed herself off of Dick, and turned to look at him. Her grey eyes looking into his blue ones. "She doesn't do this for the greater good, at least not yet. She does this because she wants to make Hal proud, and Alya's a smart girl, at one point she's going to realize that she doesn't need to be a hero, she doesn't need to get kidnap and watch her own teammates died, to make Hal proud and she's going to quit before she builds that want to protect, that I know she has."

"I don't think you give Alya enough credit, Mar," Dick told her softly. "Alya has come a long way since she first moved in with you. And I think she's come a long way since she first joined the team. She may not admit or see it but I think she already has that protectiveness you want to have, and it's not just for you. Because if it was, she would had grabbed you, and teleported you both out of the cave when she had the chance, and lied to you about what happened. But she didn't, she stayed and fought even after you were knocked out. And I think you forgot about the mission in Bialya, the mission that you weren't on, the first mission she didn't bail on that didn't have you in it. Marie... Hal isn't the only person, Alya wants to make you proud, she wants to make you proud of her, but I think you're hurting her when you say stuff like that." Dick places his hand on Marie's shoulder. "I don't know Alya that well, not like you do. And I don't know how she is outside of the cave. I know that she is distant from the team, that isn't you. I don't know how she is with those five other teens that got powers with her, but I hear from you, Gale, and Phoenix. 'They're all pretty close, dysfunctional, but close.' Gale's words, not mine."

Marie lets out a laugh. "Dysfunctional doesn't even begin to explain what goes on with that group."

"I'm just saying that those kids may not want to be heroes now. But I think you guys are trying to put Alya on the wrong team."
