You know that moment when you finally begin to realize how horrible your life actually is?
Maybe not, but I can assure at some point in your life, sooner or later, we will all feel this way.
Temporary or Permanent.
You will feel as if nobody cares about you, that your friends just talk to you just because they feel bad for you, that your parents don't actually love you and they're using you more as a trophy. That everything in this world is out to get you.
Well, take that, multiply it by 10, and that's how Luke feels every single day.
Then, take that and multiply it by 20 and that how Luke felt right now.
He felt lost and confused.
Broken, really.
But, maybe he was meant to be like that. Maybe, he was made to feel broken.
Because, everyone in life needs to find someone broken just to realize how great their own life is.
Why?
Because people are selfish.
Luke, Luke always felt selfish.
But, right now, he felt pissed off.
He tried to help Iris and in return she shuts the door on him.
Literally.
She was being selfish. Not Luke.
But he didn't even know why.
Why was she being selfish?
Why wouldn't she tell him?
Why wouldn't she tell him anything when he practically tells her everything?
Why why why.
Luke spread across his couch as he gulped down his moms bottle of everclear.
He smiled as he finally felt his mind go numb.
He finally began to forget the world and all its problems.
Except for one.
His own problem.
Iris.
Realizing this, he felt the anger consume his body.
Keep in mind, he was drinking one of the strongest types of alcohol and also, Luke was a very emotional drunk.
1/4 of the bottle already sitting in Luke's stomach, he got up from the couch, pacing back and forth.
His head snapped to the side once he heard the doorbell ring.
"Shit," he murmured to himself. Knowing if it was his mom or anyone else that he would get killed for even being slightly intoxicated.
"Wait, why would it be mom if she lives here?" Luke questioned to himself.
"Unless she forgot her keys," He said, his eyes growing wide, hoping that wasn't the case.
The doorbell rang again and Luke stared at it in fear.
Who could it possibly be?
He, dawdled towards the door and opened it as slowly as possible.
Before he even had a chance to be surprised, Iris stepped into the house and handed him a piece of paper that read:
I'm sorry I was so harsh. I understand you were trying to help, but I don't need your help, Luke. I hope you'll understand and not question my reasoning as to why I don't go to the police.
