And I don't want the world to see me...

She wasn't at school today.

Luke messed up, he knows he did. It was always his fault, always.

He would apologize as much as he had to but he couldn't last another moment without her.

He missed her.

More than he should've.

She hasn't been at school all week and Luke hated the dark cloud forming over him.

He isolated himself.

He just wanted to be alone. Because, any small thing would remind him of her and that stupid kiss.

But it wasn't stupid.

She kissed back.

Luke didn't even think ecstasy could make you hallucinate something so...magical.

Something so real.

He should know, he's gotten high more times than he could count.

Walking up the staircase, Luke went into his bathroom, splashing cold water onto his face. He got a towel, wiping off the water and looked at himself in the mirror.

The saddest part was he couldn't even recognize himself.

The blue eyed boy staring back at him seemed so foreign. The dark eye circles, chapped lips that he bit repeatedly. His hair? It was a mess. He didn't even bother to gel it up at times and just threw on a beanie or a snapback.

He just didn't want anyone to see him in this state.

Hell, he didn't want the world to see him.

Only Iris.

Iris was the only person he knew wouldn't judge him or critique him.

Luke wasn't even sure as to how Iris became the main focal point of his life.

She just was.

Because for Luke, She was the cement holding him together. Without her, he believed that he would just become a pile of dust.

He had to see her.

Luke shook his head, knowing the thought was ridiculous. He couldn't see Iris. She was obviously avoiding him.

Luke walked to his bedroom, turned on his music, and collapsed on his mattress.

Photograph by Nickelback.

Comical.

How to save a life by The Fray.

He began to get a sick feeling in his stomach. Maybe, he was just being supersticious. I mean, Luke could be very paranoid at times.

Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls.

Luke sat up on his bed, running his fingers through his hair. This couldn't be a coincidence. It just couldn't.

But, where was the harm in just checking in on her? I mean he didn't exactly know which house she lived in, but he knew the neighborhood. And it was close to his. It was a small area, not many houses.

Oh God, he's obsessed.

This needed to stop. It was unhealthy.

Luke threw on a pair of sweats and plugged in his headphones. He ran out the door and started jogging through his neighborhood.

His eyes glued to the ground he kept running until he bumped into someone.

"Hey, watc-oh, hey, Luke."

He took out one of his earphones, staring down at the curly redhead.

"Uh, hey, Clara."

"It's Clarissa, if you weren't so hot i'd probably slap you for forgetting my name, even after, you know," she smirked.

Luke felt shivers run down his spine at the remembrance.

But at least she wanted him, unlike Iris, she didn't run away after a fucking kiss.

"Yeah, i'm sorry about that, i'm not good with names."

"It's fine, you're good at a lot of other things," she said, stepping closer.

Luke was so close. So close to giving in to her, letting her take control but he couldn't.

Even with everything that happened Iris was the only girl running through his mind.

"Yeah, hey, listen I, uh, have to go," he said, plugging his earphone back in, "i'll see you at school."

Not looking back, he continued to jog and before he knew it, his breath became heavy and the rain started to downpour on him, so hard that the sweat dripping off him only seemed like the glistening rain. But he kept running, and running. The pressure on his feet were only a fraction worth of pain compared to what was going on through his mind.

Too many memories, not enough storage.

Too many thoughts, not enough words.

His mind-he knew-was crazy. But, at this point, it was running wild.

He stopped running, bending over and resting his hands on his knees, to catch his breath.

Looking up, Luke realized that he wasn't even his own neighborhood anymore.

It was hers.

His mind drew him to the place he needed to be, but feared the most.

Without a second thought, Luke walked down the street. Calling them "houses" would be more than an overstatement. 3/4 of the houses were practically demolished and the other 1/4 weren't too far behind.

Luke jumped over to the sidewalk, watching, as a broken-down truck sped down the street and pulled into a, somewhat, put together house.

The man stormed out and while Luke couldn't see his face the man had orangey-brownish hair and was tall and broad. Muscles that could crack someone's back just by looking at him.

And by the looks of it, he was pissed.

He started to hear yelling, coming from the same house.

Though frightened, Luke was also curious. Stupidely curious.

He stuffed his headphones in his backpack, already worried about having to untangle them, but continued to walk down closer to the house. He quietly sunk down near the window only letting his eyes pop out. Nobody was in the room and he only heard yelling, but it was more clear.

He could make out the words; Stupid, Bitch, Pathetic.

Luke finally saw the man again, but only his back, and could finally hear out everything he was saying.

"Who the hell do you think you are? You know what? Don't answer that. You're a slut a fucking slut. You are not aloud to go out and you sure as hell will not come into this home, under my roof, in another boys clothing. And you know what else? I'm glad you're mother isn't here to see this because she would be fucking disappointed in you."

The voice itself scared Luke and he couldn't imagine how frightened the person was on the other end of the conversation.

Luke, beginning to realize that he should leave and it wasn't his place to interfere in another families problem, began to get up.

Before he got the chance to walk away, Luke almost passed out at hearing the mans last sentence.

"You were one hell of a waste of skin, Iris."

Grammar makes me want to punch myself.

Oh goodness this was so bad and so not worth waiting like a month. It was so bad and hate myself I'm so so so sorry.

I just really hated this chapter and hope you guys can stick through it because I honestly feel so much more confident about the next few chapters and what's coming up.

But if you don't want to continue reading this I 100% understand and I thank you for giving me a shot.

Well, thank you so much for almost 2K reads.
