We'll cut to the chase here.

Luke had been ignoring his friends all day.

The pity they had for him was undeniable.

Luke didn't like the feeling of pity. He didn't really like the feeling of any sort of sorrow or even gratitude towards him. He just wanted to feel normal. Happy.

For him, being happy was like how people wanted money.

He'd do anything for it.

Ignoring his friends was one of the things he thought he needed to do.

Funny, how he just ignored his problems all the time.

His mind traced to Iris, he hasn't seen her in days...

He shook the thought from his brain and focused onto his friends.

In all honesty, Luke didn't even want to consider them his friends anymore. He felt as if, if they were really his friends they'd know him well enough to know he doesn't like the pity. They should know that sometimes Luke would actually like to hang out with them, instead of it being the only time they'd talk is when they were complaining about problems or, for instance, the other night where it was just girlfriends and chick-flicks.

The food, he didn't mind as much.

Yes, Luke knew he was being a bit unreasonable but he also knew that one day everything is done. Over.

His life, your life, his friends life, some stranger's life, a new born child's life, will all end. We will all take our last breath we will all have one last thing before it's over.

Luke wanted to make his one and only life somewhat livable, in his circumstances, enough so that when everything does end for him he won't be as miserable into wherever he was going after death, knowing that he could've done so much more with his life.

He didn't want to lie on his death bed, fear of what would come next, and regret of the past.

And all he wanted was happiness.

So, if being selfish was the way to go, then here it is.

Lost in his thoughts, walking down the halls Luke ran into the one and only..

"Iris," He breathed out, his face already forming a wide grin.

It's been two weeks since her little hysteria in the bathroom and they haven't spoken...or at least Luke hasn't.

She looked up at him, feeling a bit anxious, but still giving him a small grin.

Luke couldn't help but wonder if maybe she was avoiding him like he was to his friends.

"Let's hang out," he said, quickly, taking her backpack off her shoulders and carrying it out the exit of the school, with Iris right behind.

It was overbearing, and kind of a trap, but he didn't care.

He was desperate.

"So.." Luke said, breaking the silence and feeling a bit lopsided with the weight of two backpacks on his shoulders.

The walk was quiet until Luke broke it, once again, but maybe not with his ideal choice of words.

"I missed you."

Stopping in her tracks, Iris turned towards Luke, her eyes widening in bewilderment.

"No I, um, meant it like...well.. like, I missed you? I don't know, I sat at the tree at lunch, the one in the back of the school, and you weren't there and I didn't get to see any of your new pictures or you. I didn't get to see you, smoking, staring out in the distance and it made me feel empty and I realized that I missed you, for two weeks," Luke explained. He was relieved he got to take that off his chest but also upset with how confused and nervous Iris looked.

He thought in movies and shit girls liked the big outbursts when guys declared their love and stuff.

Luke, realizing that he should probably leave, began taking off Iris's backpack and handing it to her.

But Luke, being the clumsy little shit he is, stumbled on the crack in the sidewalk which led him to tripping over his feet and practically falling onto Iris, but caught himself placing his hands on her arms. But Luke, being 6'4 and Iris only around 5'4 led into them, both, falling down onto the patch of grass behind them, Luke on top of Iris.

He lifted himself up, placing his arms on either side of her, his body hovering above hers.

"Shit, Iris, I'm so sorry," Luke apologized, "I'm so fucking sorry, i'm such an idiot."

But, he still took the moment to get a better look at Iris. Her eyes were such a light blue where it was to the point where they looked almost grey. She wore makeup, but not a lot. Just some mascara and light pink gloss on her small, plump lips.

"S-sorry Iris..I didn't mean to um, well, y'know," for some reason, though, Luke couldn't move. He felt as if his arms were stuck to the ground.

Before he could say anything else, he was cut off by laughter, her laughter.

It was a small, short, giggle but it was like music to his ears. She was laughing and smiling, and oh god her smile was one of the most angelic things Luke could've ever seen in his life.

His heart began to sped up and even with the sick feeling in his stomach he couldn't help himself when he began laughing too.

It was a picture perfect moment.

Iris, her wavy light brown hair sprawled in the grass, no longer laughing, but smiling and shaking her head up at Luke.

Iris sat up, leaning on her elbows, looking straight at Luke.

He wanted this moment to last forever.

The proximity between the two was so close a penny would just barely fit in between.

Iris cleared her throat and shuffled out from under Luke, going over to her backpack and taking out her camera.

She sat crisscrossed on the sidewalk, and Luke stood up walking towards her. But she moved her head away from the camera and glared at him, telling him he should stand still. Awkwardly he held his arms in front of him and tried to hide back his smile. That is, until he saw a dog running by and it reminded him a lot of his dog and-

In the corner of his eye he saw the flash from Iris's polaroid go off.

He ran up to her and as they waited for it to develop properly Iris took out a pen and wrote something on the back of it.

When it developed Luke looked at the picture and started laughing.

"I need to get a haircut" He laughed running his fingers through his hair.

He flipped it over and on the back in sloppy handwriting was.

How about this for new pictures?

Luke looked over at Iris, who was smirking, and he realized. Yes, maybe things do end, maybe he should find something to make his life worth living.

But pictures, will never die.

Luke wanted this picture, the one in his head, of this moment, he wanted it to last forever.

A/N

When you realize Finn Wittrock was in halloween-town high

When you realize Lukes quiff is higher than your IQ

When you realize you're almost at 800 reads on a story you thought wouldn't even get 2.

BUT SERIOUSLY, thank you so so so much it really means a lot that people are actually reading and hopefully enjoying this story.

I know, this chapter was a lot of fluff and such but I really want them to start having cute coupley-like moments soooo yeah.

Vote comment and all that good stuff

Really, thank you again. <33
