~a change for the better~

I wake up to the smell of what I believe are two of my favorites bacon and coffee.
Going downstairs I was correct, Freya and Alice sitting on the table seeming to be pretty happy.  "What's got you all perky" I ask but knowing Alice shes always happy, something I love about her.

"I think Hogwarts will be a change for the better, I can feel it!" She replies.

I smile at the girls positivity taking a sip of my coffee. I sure hope she's right.

Finally for once in my life I'll be able to be somewhere other than this bloody cottage. As much as a love Freya and Maria it can get boring being with them everyday. I've never really had any other friends besides Maria, I really am hoping Hogwarts will be a change for the better.

I can tell it's worrying Maria, she just never seems to stops overthinking, she never allows anything in her life to be considered good. I hear light footsteps which I'm assuming it's her just from how quiet she walks.

I hear a sigh basically calling to my attention. "Yes maria?" I roll my eyes folding my jeans.

"how do I know I'm even ready for this Alice? How are you so sure this is good for us?" She asks.

"Because Maria we'll be together that's what makes it exciting, an adventure. something new. We have to look at the positives just not the negatives and the what if's all the time." I ramble in hopes to give Maria some reassurance, she sits up and weakly smiles.

"this is why you're my bestfriend." she tells me still seeing the look of worry plastered on her face she gets up and leaves. Truth be told I don't think Maria's ever been positive since her ex passed away.

She loved him so deeply, when he died it shattered her whole world. This is exactly why I'm hoping Hogwarts will be good for her, good for us.

"Girls come down stairs I'm wanting to explain some stuff before you leave tomorrow" Freya calls out.

"I'll be there in a second." I shout back looking for something in my trunk, I smile to myself opening the heart locket in my hand, me, my mum, and dad.

"I'm going to make you proud." I smile eyes filled with tears placing it in my box.

"I wanted to let both of you know I am super proud of you two. Freya smiles as both me and Maria sat there completely exhausted.

"After all these years this is gonna be different. You will be out on your own and I trust you two, but just know I won't hesitate to send a howler if I have to" she raises an eyebrow looking over to me and Maria.

"I know over the years I've taught you both wandless magic which Maria it's a bit easier for you to do and I need you to know that it will not be aloud understood?"

"There's too many risks with it not being supervised so wands only." She looks over to us nodding like if we're still children.

"Maria can I speak to you for a second?" She asks pouring herself a glass of wine. I believe this was my cue to leave.

"sure." She nodded hesitate as I went back to my room.

Well no, I'm too nosey for that.

"look I need you to try your best and be as calm as possible I know when you lash out your magic can get the better of you and" she tells Maria nervously.

"I'll be fine"

"Promise you'll write to me?" Freya says seeming to squeeze her even tighter.

"Of course"

"Get out Alice" she says swaying her arms as Maria let out a laugh.

"Sorry I was doing laundry." I clear my throat embarrassed.

"Yeah right." Maria snorts as freya pulled us both in a tight hug.

I can tell Freya's nervous when she asked to talk with me I could see it all over her face. I got ready for bed making myself a cup of tea, reading a book in hope's it will relax me.

I've always loved reading it's always put my mind at ease. Took my thoughts somewhere else other than swarming and overwhelming me at once.

Especially the cute romance books that make you get butterflies and squeal from the overload cuteness. I hope I can find something like that one day, something real something, that'll last forever.
