Chester's POV

It had been a week since his death, I could admit it now and I could just about think about him without breaking into tears. Grace had been so good throughout it all, she had remained strong when I was weak and whenever I needed her she was right by my side. I knew it upset her too though, sometimes in the nights I would hear her fatigue whimpers and she would bury herself in my chest; we'd stay like that until the sun rose.

I woke to the smell of fresh pancakes and caffeine and a beaming Grace in the kitchen. I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist, she struggled out of my grip in excitement.

"What? Why are you so happy?" I sleepily mumbled as she shoved the plate of pancakes towards me.

"Eat! I'll show you after you've eaten!" She stared at me whilst I confusingly ate, her smile too big for a Wednesday morning. I scanned my brain for anything that maybe I should have remembered: an anniversary, a birthday, valentines day? None of them were today so I kept pondering as to why Grace was ecstatic this morning.

"Follow me Mr See!" She giggled as she practically pulled me into the living room.

"You're insane Helbig." I groaned as she put a hand over my eyes. She removed her hand from my face and when I looked up she was grinning at me. I followed her gaze to the corner of the room where a grand white piano stood; I gasped a little and ran up to it, falling in love as my fingers touched the keys.

"I thought you deserved a little present." Grace said walking up to me.

"It's incredible, truly incredible! Grace you really didn't have to do this." I beamed as I cupped her face in my hands.

"Yes I did."  She said as she kissed me.

"I love you." I whispered as the butterflies she always made me feel appeared again.

"I love you too." She grinned as I stared from my piano to her and back again.  I sat down on the stool as she kissed my head and walked out the door.

"You two have fun." She laughed as I excitably played.

Grace's POV

He was becoming happier, everyday I could see a little more hope in his eyes and eventually the sparkle returned. I had always believed that his smile was the biggest reason of my love for him, it made my stomach backflip and my heart flutter; when Chester smiled I did too- it was contagious and I was so glad it was back.

I woke to the sound of his sweet voice echoing throughout the house. Even-though Chester would jump out of bed at ridiculous times in the morning because he had a 'amazing song idea' and all I wanted to do was smash that piano I had to admit that waking up to him singing was my favourite thing. Sometimes I would just sit by the door as he created magic and I'd stay there for hours, my eyes closed as I was transported to a whole other universe; I liked that place more than anywhere else I had ever been.

"You know that you're allowed to come in right?" Chester laughed as he opened the door to find me sitting against it one day.

"I prefer it out here." I smiled up at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Oh do you?" He asked mischievously as he leant down and picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder. He sat me down at his piano as our lips collided and the butterflies danced. The kiss deepened and I tugged at the edge of his t-shirt but Chester pulled away, his eyes glinting as he smirked.

"Maybe I should come in here more often." I said as I ran a hand through his hair.

"Maybe you should." He said kissing me again. "But not now..it's secret and you must leave." He pushed me out the door laughing as I pretending to be upset.

Everything was back to how it used to be, I reminded myself to take one day at a time but I couldn't stop thinking about the future and how clear it all was with Chester beside me.
