Grace's POV
We danced under the lights, the music blaring through my ears but I wasn't taking any of the surroundings in. I was focused on this moment right here and the person I was spending it with. I was living a dream.
Around me stood all our guests, all engulfed in the romance this occasion bought. Weddings always bought people together and as the couples around us danced in their own worlds, I couldn't deny the magic of today.
His arms were wrapped around mine, the lights above us shining down on his face. His eyes shined in the light, his smile burning into my heart. I felt like I was under his spell, his smile luring me into a place of security and love. I didn't mind being in this spell.
We swayed from side to side, the same few steps repeated again and again. My body was controlled but my mind was going crazy, full of the thoughts of today. I couldn't believe it actually happened, I couldn't understand how someone so plain and ignorant as myself could end up with someone so handsome and incredible as Chester. I was certain I was living some sort of dream and I never wanted to wake up.
I thought back to the times we had gone to other people's weddings, we'd do the same as we are doing now but this time something had changed. This we time we were married; everyone was dancing around us. But something inside of me had changed, it was very similar to the fireworks I experience when Chester kisses me but it was constant. This feeling was never-ending and I liked it.
Chester's POV
My song, Close Your Eyes With Me resonated across the room; our wedding song. I didn't want our song to be by me but Grace told me it would make the day a thousand times better, that my voice was her favourite voice. She said that this was her favourite of my songs and I couldn't argue with her, how could I when she was my wife?
The words Grace and Wife didn't seem to be believed by my mind but yet they fitted so perfectly. They worked, they worked like adjacent puzzle pieces; much like everything else in our relationship. I couldn't describe it, we just slotted together.
Mrs See. Mr and Mrs See. The names circling around my brain, each time creating a little more adrenaline in my body, each time becoming more and more surreal. It was all real though, it was all happening. Here I stood, my own wedding, with the most phenomenal girl in my arms.
Her hands draped round my neck, her fingers occasionally fiddling with my hair. She was smiling at me, her eyes were too. You could easily tell when there was something wrong with Grace, when she wasn't her happiest however I had never seen her like this before. Her eyes were sparkling, her big brown orbs glistening at me. I had never seen her look so genuinely happy.
"Thank you." She whispered into my neck.
"For what?" I asked, pulling her away slightly.
"For making me feel like a princess today. For making all my dreams come true. For everything you ever do, for the way you're always there in the morning when I wake and in the evening when I sleep. Just thank you."
I smiled at her as if all those things were the simplest things in earth, which they were. It was a pleasure getting to spend my life with Grace.
"Thank you" I said quietly.
"For what?" She mimicked, a smirk appearing on her face.
"For being Grace."
She leaned in, her lips colliding with mine. It was simple but full of passion. It was the best kiss I think we have ever shared. It bought back all the feelings I had ever felt for Grace, the ones from years ago and the ones from today. It was like a movie scene; one of her feet raised above the ground. This was no movie though, this wasn't a fictional life we could edit and re-take. This wasn't something we could pause or rewind, but I didn't mind at all. Sure things in the past have been hard but what does it matter when you're standing where I am.
When you're married to the most perfect girl in the world.
