I woke to the sun glazing through my bedroom door, the bright light blinding me. The yellow gleams filled the room, yellow had always been my favourite colour, so bright and so hopeful. Memories from last night flooded my brain and plastered a smile on my face. I knew I would be leaving in a few days and thus, I couldn't get too attached becuase soon enough I would be on a flight home, heading to another side of the country. I knew that I should tell Chester all this but I frantically wondered whether he would think I was implying the wrong thing and break it off before it even began. I didn't know why all of a sudden I was picturing myself and Chester in the future, I had only known him for a few days but the future was clear and yellow, I had hope for me and this stanger.
As I went to step outside to leave my hotel, in hope of exploring the city before I had to leave, I looked down at the doorstep and sitting there was the most the stunning arrangment of flowers. A note was attached to it and as I read it my stomach flipped with excitment and anticipation.
I'll pick you up at 7.

PS- too soon? ;)
Never too soon Chester, never too soon. The day past slowly, the hours seemed to be getting longer and longer; I spent all the day staring at the second-hand of the clock and fretting about what I was going to wear. The decision of what I should dress like was grueling and I honestly hadn't a clue. Should I go formal or casual? Chester didn't strike me as the type of person who would go for the stereotypical dinner date - creating the challenge of what to wear even harder.
By 6 o'clock I was ready, in a blue skater skirt and a white blouse. I paced around the hotel room, sipping on wine to settle my nerves; I have never been this nervous for a date. I sat on the edge of my couch, tapping my knees up and down, reminding myself of everything about Chester, immediately making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
At exactly 7 o'clock there was a door at the knock, making my heart jump and a slight squeal escape my lips. Chester. I walked up to the door, trying to remain cool and collective. I opened the door to reveal a very handsome-looking Chester.
"Hello there." I said- all my previous nerves vanishing.
"Hey!" He smiled from ear to ear, making my cheeks flush bright pink. I smiled in return, my heart going crazy.
"Shall we?" I said grabbing my bag and closing the door.
"You look wonderful by the way Grace." I kissed him on the cheek as we started walking towards the lift, this time he blushed. I thanked him for the flowers and it was as if we had never been apart.
