Kari's POV

I had been in Australia for less than a day and already it was time to start writing. This was going to be a difficult session since I knew nothing about the four boys sitting across the table from me. I mean, come on. I have two months. I should at least get to know them a little first. Well, might as well make the best of these two hours.

"So, what's on your minds? That's always a good way to start a song," I say.

"Why you actually agreed to help us," the boy known as Luke said.

"Yeah, why help us when you know artists so much bigger than us?" the boy named Ashton added.

I sighed. I didn't really know. I guess it was just because I wanted to help them make it in the industry. On the plane I had watched some of their covers and they were really good. They really deserve to be more popular. "I guess I just wanted to."

"Really? That doesn't seem like the only reason," Calum noticed.

"I may have gotten into a fight with someone," I said, an image of Harry flashing in my mind.

"Who?" they all asked at once.

"Nobody important," I brush off their question. I was not about to talk about my love life with four boys I just met today. Why would they care anyway. After these two months they probably won't even talk to me anymore.

"Is it that boyfriend of yours, Harry?" Mike asked, talking for the first time. I didn't answer. Here I thought the only person I could read me was Harry yet these four unfamiliar boys just come and pick apart every aspect of the problem that's weighing me down. If it's good or bad, I have no clue.

"It is!" Cal exclaimed, high-fiving Ashton. God, boys are so weird. I may not have said anything, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out who I'm fighting with if these boys can read me or not. I might as well just wear a sign everywhere that says I'm fighting with Harry Styles.

"If you're having boyfriend troubles, I can fix that," Luke winked at me. The others laughed.

"Luke may act like a flirt, but 99% of the time he doesn't actually like you," Mike assured me and I nodded in relief.

"Hey, I was just trying to make you feel better," Luke said genuinely.

"Thanks, but so what if I am having boyfriend troubles? This time isn't about my life, it's about your debut album," I said, trying to change the subject.

"But you can't keep your feelings in forever. Just tell us," Calum begged. Well, I've learned one thing about them. They are amazingly nosy.

"You don't want to her about my life," I insisted.

"But we could use your experience in a song," Ashton suggested. That boy was clever. Using my own songwriting against me. Some how he had figured out one of my weaknesses. Clever, clever boy. I can already tell I'll have a love, hate relationship with them, especially Ashton. In the friendly manner, of course.

"Fine, only because it's for a song," I give in. The boys smile and wait expectantly for my story. I take a deep breath before starting.

"Well, we were leaving Japan when Simon called Harry. He told him that you guys were interested in working with me, but Harry didn't tell me. He was scared one of you would steal me away from him," I admitted.

"So, basically, he didn't trust you," Luke said.

"He said that he didn't trust you lot, but I don't exactly believe him." I said.

"What happened after that?" Cal asked.

"On the plane to Detroit I noticed Harry was acting weird so I asked Zayn what was up while we were walking through the terminal. He was the one that told me about your offer. I confronted Harry and we obviously got in a fight. I kind of just left the hotel and went straight back to the airport. I called Simon and said I wanted to do it. So, here I am," I finished the story.
