CHAPTER 40 – THE LAST CONCERT
One and a half months later
Harry’s POV
I was really excited for tonight. It was the last concert of our world tour and it was going to be extra special because Kari was coming. We had also got permission to perform they song we all wrote a while ago. I couldn’t wait for her to hear it. It described our relationship to a tee and it provided me with the perfect time to ask Kari to be my girlfriend after the concert. To say I was excited would be an understatement.
“Harry, stop squirming around,” Lou scolded me as she tidied my hair.
“Sorry Lou. I’m just buzzin’ yeah know,” I apologized.
“I can tell,” she smiled. She messed with my hair and makeup a little more before letting me go and ushering Niall into the chair.
I started walking towards the stage since I had nothing else to do. Once I was there I met Liam who was done getting ready aswell.
“Hey mate,” I greeted him.
“Hey,” he smiled back. Then in solid, fluid motion I felt two hands on my shoulders, using me for support as they jumped.
“What the hell Louis? You scared me to death,” I said clutching my chest.
“Sorry Haz,” Louis said ruffling my hair. I groaned and fixed it again. Soon Zayn, Niall, and Claire had joined us and it was time to start the last concert of our first world tour. Wow. That sounded strange. We were about to finish a world tour.
My thoughts were interrupted by the stage lights that had dimmed and the screams erupting from the crowd. We were ushered to our starting spots. Everything seemed to slow down a bit. The stage hands running around making sure everything was ready. The silly little dance Louis didn’t before every show. Sounds jumbled together too. The crowd screaming. The final comments and commands. Claire’s cheering from the sidelines as she waited to perform. And then it happened.
Whoosh.
We were launched onto the stage and everything became reality again. I looked around for Kari and quickly spotted her. She waved at me and I smiled back.
“Hello Minnesota!” I yelled. The crowd screamed louder.
“I have a feeling tonight’s going to be a good night!” I yelled again. I caught Kari’s attention again and winked at her. Even with the stage lights blinding my vision, I’m almost positive I saw her blushing.
'''
By the end of the concert of six of us were sweating buckets and almost out of breath.
“Well, it looks like there’s time for one more song,” Claire told the audience.
“This song is very special to us and we all helped write it,” Zayn piped in.
“We hope you like it,” I added. The music started and I could feel myself getting nervous. But it was okay. Kari would never judge on one song.
When it was my turn to sing I made sure Kari had my full attention. Then I let the tranquil melody take over me as I sang from my heart.
After the song was done the lights went out immediately. Our world tour was actually over. It was saddening to think about since we wouldn’t be traveling anywhere for a while. It was also exciting to know that I could spend time with the people I love. Whatever I felt, that didn’t stop me from running down the long hallway screaming with Niall and then slapping Louis on the back for revenge before going into my dressing room.
Once I was settled down more I heard a knock on the door.
“Come in,” I said. As soon as the door opened I saw Kari and ran to give her a hug.
“It’s been so long,” I mumbled into her hair.
“I know,” she mumbled back. Once we pulled apart we sat down on the couch together.
“How was the rest of your time in Australia?” I asked her.
“It was okay, but I couldn’t hug you,” she giggled.
“Well, I’m sure it was worth it because the album will sound great,” I smiled. Kari just nodded. We sat there a minute in silence just enjoying each others company.
“I can’t believe you wrote a song for me,” she spoke suddenly.
“So you did catch on,” I mused.
“Of course I did,” she said, “and I thought it was really amazing.”
“Well it was for an amazing girl,” I complimented her.
“Harry,” she blushed.
“You know I meant. Your eyes. Your smile. Your hair. Your laugh. The way you bite your lip. How you can swear like a truck driver. Everything about you is amazing. And I really want you to be my girlfriend,” I said sweetly.
“Of course I’ll be your girlfriend,” she said happily. With that I pulled her into a long kiss. When we broke apart I was smiling widely.
“You know, its funny how something major is ending and so many things are happening,” I noticed.
“Harold, you of all people should know that this is just the beginning.”
AN: Oh my gosh. I’m sorry its been forever since I updated. I’m sorry. I’ve just been coughing out my lungs. No big deal. Anyway, that was the last official chapter of Finding Someone! There’s the epilogue though! I’m sad that it’s almost over though.
