AN: Hey guys! I know this is short, but it's a good cut off. Plus, I haven't had a lot of time lately, but I felt I should update! There's another chance for a one shot at the end of the chapter! I hope you like it!

Kari’s POV

I felt someone shaking me. I moaned and the shaking intensified.

“Kari.” A voice cooed. I moaned again and rolled over.

            “Kari!” The voice yelled.

“What?” I yelled back. I opened my eyes to see Zayn hovering over me. He seemed taken aback.

            “Oh, sorry Zayn.” I apologized.

“That’s okay, it’s time to get up babe.” He said. Wait, he called me babe. And it didn’t bother me. I just shrugged it off. I got up and looked at the clock. It read 7:30am.

“Shit, shit, shit.” I said, digging through my luggage.

            “What?” Zayn asked.

“It’s 7:30. I have to be ready in less than ten minutes so we can get to the studio by 8!” I exclaimed, finally deciding on an outfit. I ran into the bathroom to change into my maroon colored jeans and a blue cami. I threw my white sweatshirt that saidLondonacross the front over my cami and brushed my hair into a messy bun. I washed my face, not bothering to put makeup on. I ran out of the bathroom, back to my bag where I pulled out a stick of gum. I put it my mouth and threw the wrapper on the floor. Gum was just as good as a tooth brush and toothpaste in my opinion. That’s when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I stiffened.

“I know this makes you uncomfortable Kari, but listen to me. You need to slow down. It’s okay if you’re a few minutes late.” Zayn said, unwrapping his arms from me.

“No Zayn, it’s not okay. I hate being late.” I said grabbing my phone. I slipped on my blue converse high tops and left without saying another word to Zayn. He didn’t understand. Music is very important and it takes time to make it good. I was about to knock on Claire and Niall’s door when I doubled over in pain. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it was that time of month. I quickly ran back to the hotel room and acted like I forgot something. I slipped into the bathroom without looking at Zayn, who was watching TV. When I came out he was smirking.

            “What?” I asked.

“Kari, I have three sisters. I know about this stuff.” He chuckled and tossed me a bottle of painkillers.

“Um, thanks, I guess.” I said taking two of the small pills and swallowing them dry. Zayn looked disgusted.

“Don’t you need water or something?”

“No.” I said and left again. Okay, let’s try this again. Shit. Of course I forgot my journal with all the songs. I went back to the room again and got the journal.

“Don’t say a word.” I snapped at Zayn.

“Wasn’t planning on it.” I ignored him and finally made my way to Claire and Niall’s room. I knocked and Niall answered.

“Hey Kari!” He said a little too brightly.

“Hey.” I said with no emotion.

            “You okay?” He asked.

“Yeah, just peachy. You guys ready to go?”
