Dear Emily,

if you are reading this, that means I am not in this world anymore. I still remember the day sixteen years ago, when your uncle Moony found you outside of a grocery store in a basket with only a blanket inside. He brought you to my house immediately without asking me, afraid of what he should do. I freaked out, telling him that we can't keep you especially because we couldn't know if you were a wizard or not. Remus then left the house to search the place he found you and ask if anyone saw something and find what your identity was. We were alone in the house, I was observing how you were peacefully sleeping and grinning in your sleep. You were a wonderful baby and  I really felt something when I saw you there. After a while, I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and I guess you sensed that I left because you started crying unstoppable. Only when I touched your tiny hands you stopped, I can not forget how that made me feel. I knew that it was meant to be, to have you and raise you as my daughter.

Remus came back after a couple of hours and found us sitting on the couch together, with me feeding you with warm milk. He realized that I wanted you and he didn't say anything, only smiled and sat next to me teasing you. He informed me that you are a muggleborn and your parents died in a car crash, you had no family by blood. But then, you found me.

That night, everyone came to celebrate for the new member of the family. Lily was pregnant with Harry and she loved you from the first look. She promised that she will always love you and take care of you, but life had other plans for all of us.

I had the chance to be in your life your first two years, before I was sent to Azkaban. Molly Weasly promised me that she will take care of you and that you will have the best time of your life, although you were a complicated kid. She was informing me every week how you were, how you been doing... Most of the times you were lost in your books, escaping from this world. She was worried about you, but I comforted her that you knew what you were doing and let you do whatever you wanted do, unless you wasn't hurting anyone, or yourself.

Twelve years later, we reunited. You were a grown up girl and I was so proud of you. Watching you after all these years made me feel that not even a day had passed since you were two, when I saw you for the last time. It is true, , I was blinded by love for Harry Potter but I assure you that I have never loved one of you more than the other. My love is equally for you both but I screwed up. Molly was right, you was the most complicated and inaccessible teenager I have ever seen, you were even more weird than I was at your age. You were suffering and I was playing it blind, I knew that you were going to ran away because I did the same too at your age. I predicted it, but I didn't stop it because I was dealing with other stuff not realizing that what valued the most in my life, was you and you were broken. But I freaked out, I couldn't fix you. Instead, I decided to make things worst because I knew that you could never trust me again, and I pushed you in ways you didn't know to live a whole different life, the one you do with this boy today, Draco Malfoy.

You are going to learn new things now, but I want to show you and understand that I am not the only one who made all the wrong choices.

There is a prophecy, Emily. That between Voldermort and Harry, only the one will survive. The one must kill the other, but what if Harry fails?

I visited Draco Malfoy, almost two years ago. I pressured him to just be your friend, he agreed. He was scared, you see. He wasn't a Death Eater yet that time, but he said yes. Then, I sent him an howl about D. A., and told him to sent you there by accident so you would get mad at your friends. You would want revenge and you would be furious. Everything was going by the plan, and then the expected happened, Voldermort left you with no choice than to follow him. I knew that I was going to die, I just hope you are not the one who did it. You need an explanation about everything, and here it is.

To be clear, Draco Malfoy sure feels something about you. He asked nothing in return for himself but I really hope he have told you anything about all these before it is too late.

Listen Emily, you are a strong, smart and excellent witch. You are brave and a true Gryffindor. Voldermort trusts you and that's why you and Draco must be the ones who will turn against him. You are more courageous than Draco, he is going to need a little push. But listen to me, no one should understand you. Not even Harry Potter, because the plan will be ruined. Do whatever your mission is without hesitating and you will find your path.

There is going to be a war. Soon, and it is going to be a big one. Don't get scared, you know what you will have to do. Finish your mission, turn against Voldermort and be brave. Always be brave, be a Gryffindor.

Once, I said to Harry that the world isn't split to good people and Death Eaters. We all have both light and dark inside of us. What matter is the power we choose to act on, that's who we truly are. I wish you were the one that heard that, you needed it more.

Find who you are, Em.
Fight for you, save them. I know that you can. I wouldn't give my life if I wasn't so sure. Don't let me down. If you ever want me, you know that I will be there. I will always be.

Love, Dad.
