Ms. Stevens' POV
It's been a few days since Shiranda acted weird in the classroom with me. She's been avoiding me. She hasn't been acknowledging me, and been taking every opportunity to not speak to me.
Deena is away with Terry for a week, so she asked me to house sit whenever I'm not at work, which is currently what I'm doing now.
"I just realized, isn't that the new Econ teacher, Ms. Stevens, I think?" Kiera says. Her and Shiranda are at the dining table, working on their project.
Guess she figured working in her room wasn't going to do since the last incident, which I don't approve of.
I continue to watch TV, acting as if I'm not paying attention to their conversation.
Shiranda's POV
"Yeah, it is." I'm surprised Kiera actually recognized her. Took her long enough to.
"She looks so different outside of school." Hahaha, you're tellin' me 👀. "True."
Ms. Stevens' POV
Why do they keep saying I look different? Look different how? And why does Kiera's presence bother me? She didn't even do anything wrong to me.
I get up and go over to the fridge. I pull out a blue Calypso, getting interrupted by Kiera. "Hi, Ms. Stevens."
"Hi" my ass. "Hey." I say flatly and go back to the couch. Can they just finish the project so she can hurry up and go home already?
.....
I'm about to play another round of a videogame, when Shiranda picks up the other controller.
I look at her. "You're playing?" She doesn't respond for awhile, looking at the screen.
"Put me in." She says, still avoiding my gaze. I do as she says. We play a few rounds before I can't take the silence anymore. It feels like it's choking me, and I honestly feel like we're back to square one.
"So, are you gonna tell me why you're not talking to me?" She doesn't answer me, both of our fingers doing different things on the controllers, our eyes focused on the screen.
"I'll take that as a no." I say, sighing out of frustration. What the fuck did I do to deserve the silent treatment?
The silence lingers on as we continue to play, and I swear, I can't take this. "Come on, please tell me." I plead.
She puts her controller down mid-game and begins to walk away. As if it's instinct, I stand up, gently gripping her wrist and bringing her back towards me.
My body pushes hers against the wall. "Please tell me what I did...." I beg, almost a whisper.
Shiranda's POV
Ms. Stevens has my body pressed up against the wall with hers, and my breath involuntarily hitches.
Shit, I don't want her to know that I like this.
My eyes avoid her piercing gaze, looking down as she continues to look at me.
I didn't really want to give her the silent treatment, but after it was evident she clearly didn't remember the kiss, I didn't want to look stupid again, so I just kept avoiding her.
It....kinda.....makes me happy it's been eating her up inside.
But, to be honest, I don't want to talk about the kiss. It's far too embarrassing, and I don't feel like it would go anywhere positive if we did.
"Shiranda, please look at me." She lifts my chin up to look at her with her fingers.
She's too much for me, I feel like the room is closing in.
I just look into her eyes, not knowing what to say to get out of this. I don't want to lie to her and say nothing happened, but I don't want to disclose anything either.
"Ms. Stevens, I'll stop ignoring you, just please let me go to my room." She looks down to the floor and nods. She backs away from me, and I take the freedom to speed walk to my room and shut the door.
