Chapter 39, Is he free...?

*No one's POV*

More violence in this chapter, will do my start thing at them

He was in shock on the ground with a splash of blood on his face. Yugi couldn't help but to let a small smile show. Atemu was there, a part of him covered in darkness and a hand missing. The creature was laying on the ground crying out as Yugi managed to get up.

"I-I can't begin to say how sorry I am, Yugi. For all the trouble I have cause, for all the time I have caused you and Heba hurt. I don't deserve to be forgiven...." Atemu said holding his arms together. "But please, let me help  you, then you will never see me again."

Yugi stood up and hugged him, feeling him flinch with the contact.

"Of course we need help. Maybe with time I will forgive, but for now we have more problems at hand," Yugi said and hung of the side of Atemu looking at the creature. He than glanced to Heba nudging Atemu to go check him, to which he did. 

The smaller one wanted to run and check on Yami, but he couldn't leave Atemu with a hand down to fight the thing. 

"You think you're smart, releasing me than thinking you can kill me. Just when I thought we were the true partners but you go after his clone," the creature said and took the knife out letting dark mist to gash out. "I will not stand for this."

"Don't have to stand for it, can sit down ya know," Yugi chatted making the thing look at him. "And what, are you jealous he has someone he can love yet here you are. Thinking you run the shots with him all because he was the reason you're here."

Yugi was playing a dangerous game, but behind the things shoulder he could see some sort of building. He though he could get the thing to chase him to buy some time for Heba to wake up. So he slapped his butt at the thing and pulled his tongue out. 

The creature growled at him and jumped to him, but Yugi jumped up and pushed it's shoulders down so it hit the ground. Yugi ran as fast as his legs could carry him, hearing Atemu call for him in the background. 

He got to the door but just missed a spear being thrown at his face and entered the place. It reminded him of being inside the puzzle, long hallways with doors. Opening one it just lead to another hallway with more door. But the walls had stuff written on them. 

'Help me!'

'I'm sorry!!' 

'Don't hurt them!!!'

It was going around in a circle. It looked like Atemu was really fighting that thing from the inside the entire time. Footsteps had started to echo in the halls so Yugi ran down some hallways and closing the doors behind him. He didn't know where he was going, but all he knew was that his plan was working.

But on one door he didn't see, a string at the bottom. He pushed the door open, making the string move and something swing at him. Thinking fast he was able to jump back, but it caught the front of his shirt and cutting his chest a little.

Yugi was quick to get back moving and further in the maze of doors. It seemed like he had finally reached the centre, surprised to what he was seeing. A large, beating heart connected to what looked like black veins. 

With a thought of process, Yugi came up with the plan to try ad trick the thing to throw something at it and hopefully end this mess. So, he started to clap. One echoed throughout the entire place so he continued it. Over, over and over again.

Until the footsteps were getting closer to him so he stopped and hid behind a door. This one was less likely among the others so he felt good. Like his plan was going to work. 

"Bet you didn't think I could go through walls eh?" he heard and didn't time to turn before he was pinned to the ground. "You have had enough running for today eh? Let's make you stay here."

"What are yo-"

Something had began to cut through Yugi's leg. He screamed out in pain, the creature laughing as it went faster. It got through the bone fast and the next thing was Yugi's foot coming off. There were no words to describe the amount of pain Yugi was in as the creature laughed and put the foot in it's mouth to lick the blood.

"MMMMMMMH the blood of the innocence tastes so much better!!!" the creature called out as Yugi was fighting tears. But noticed the blade the creature had used. All he needed to do was to reach to grab it, throw it at the heart and hopefully the creature would be gone. But after getting his foot cut off the blood rushing out was starting to make him lightheaded.

He hoped that, if he couldn't do it then maybe Atemu could make it. It was the place he was trapped in, so he should be able to know the way. He closed his eyes, ready to die. But never got anything, he heard blood dripping onto the ground. 

Opening them back up, he couldn't be more happier. Yami was there holding a knife in the things heart that was out beating. "You've done enough damage to my world. Now get the hell out," Yami muttered as he fells to his knees but pushed the knife in deeper.

A high pitch squeal almost made the boys ears bleed but it soon changed to a deep growl. The creature had started to melt away.

"YOU MAY HAVE KILLED ME!!!! BUT ANOTHER WILL TAKE MY PLACE IN THIS WORLD!!!!!!" the creature screamed out as it turned into nothing but black water on the ground.

Yam used what little strength he had to get up and reach Yugi. He didn't hesitate to rip off some of his shirt to place it on the bottom of Yugi's leg. "When we get back, I'm so going to marry you," Yami laughed as held out a hand. His right which had his pinkie and ring finger gone.

"Heh, g-gonna be hard to have a dance huh?" Yugi laughed as he threw an arm around Yami's shoulders. It was going to be hard to walk, but he knew he couldn't stay there. They started to walk while laughing to each other, keeping their spirits high. 

Door after door, it seemed like they weren't getting anywhere fast and they didn't have the time to waste. Although Yugi had his leg wrapped up, the blood was coming out fast and ready to go through the fabric. It got to the point the boys had to sit down and start calling out to Atemu and Heba.

"This is not a date I would have planned, me down two fingers with you down a foot. But hey it could be worse right?" Yami laughed not seeing Yugi's eyes beginning to close on his shoulders. "I love you Yugi Muto, we will get out of this alive."

"I....I love y-you....tooo..." Yugi mumbled before his fully closed. His body didn't shut down completely straight after. Because he heard the cries of Yami telling him not to close his eyes.

Ya know, this story is so close to being done and I don't even know what is it that stops me from writing it. 

But finally, the creature that has taken Atemu's mind is gone. Can everyone finally have peace orrrrr, do I have something else planned?
