Chapter 34, In plain sight...

*Yugi's POV*

Everything was cold, my body refused to listen to me. All I can remember was falling into the water and getting punched. 

A warmth was surrounding me, I guessed I was in the arms of someone. And with a smell, I knew who it was. My partner, lover and the only one I trusted more than anyone. Yami.

The strength in myself was coming back and I eventually opened my eyes. Yami was balling his eyes out, I couldn't hear right but saw his mouth was yelling at someone behind me. I tried moving my mouth but ended up groaning in pain. 

Yami's head darted down to me and I felt some tears fall onto my face. He continued to speak and all I could do was look away. We were still beside the pier so I guess I wasn't long pulled out of the water. 

"ugi...Yugi please talk," I heard from Yami finally and managed to shake my head slightly. Yami understood what was going on and lifted me up from the ground and started to carry me away. "I'm sorry...I couldn't protect you."

I wanted to yell at him, what I did was my own fault and I did turn away from him. As we walked he kept sneezing, I'm worried he's caught a cold because of me. 

"I couldn't get Heba in time before that monster took him. I wanted to grab him but when I saw him punch you, I lost it and came to save you. Forgive me...." Yami mumbled and tried to fight the tears again as I saw it pricking at the side of his eyes. I feel pathetic, he always is protecting me an he feels like crap all the time.

I have to do this by myself. I have to find and save Heba and Atemu. The darkness has infected me before and I got saved, so now it's my time to do the saving instead of being the saved. Trying to lift up my arm, I got it up to his cheek and put on a week smile. He let go of his control and started to cry, trying his best to hold Yugi up.

We made it to where we were living which had no sign to where our friends where. "I'll get you something to eat and drink," Yami said as he placed me on the bed. He walked out without a single word and I chose that as a chance to try and get out.

My legs were still weak but was enough to stand up. If I had the strength to stand then I should have gotten my strength to talk again. Once moving my legs, I stumbled to the door and made a huge thud. Hurried footsteps came my way and I had to dive away from the door before it was burst open with Yami with jam on his face.

"What the hell are you doing? Get back in that bed," Yami said and grabbed my arms but I swatted him away. "Wha-"

"Y-Yami...listen to me," I got out even though it hurt. "I have been saved, far far too many times. I feel pathetic. I have to do something, I have to help Heba, and Atemu is in this mess because of me. Yami I have to do this myself."

Yami looked gobsmacked, like he had just seen me get evaporated from the earth. He grabbed my arm and sat me down in the living room. "You do understand what you're saying? Go by yourself? That's a death sentence, like hell I'd let you do that," Yami said and held my hand looking down. "Do you know how many times I have almost lost you? And now you want to go out and do this?"

"Yes."

Yami was getting more upset with me, but no matter what he was going to say I wasn't going to change my mind.

"Look, you either support me and give support from the sidelines. Or you don't and leave me to this," I said looking at him in the eyes. He looked taken back, but had a small smile as he let out a laugh.

"You've changed Yugi," Yami said and held both of my checks in his hands. "Seeing you grow, and seeing how you are now. Makes me proud to have been here for most of your steps. When we first met, you wouldn't step down from the bullies. And now even though your life is in grave danger you won't step down.

"Like hell will I let you do this by yourself. We are a couple, which means we work together. If you won't accept help from anyone else then accept it from me."

This almost sent me into tears again, but I tried to hold it back. I don't deserve him in my life, he's too good for me. 

"F-Fine," I squeaked out. After hearing myself I held my mouth and he laughed moving my hands away. "I want you and only you. I don't want anyone else in danger because of me ever again." 

Yami nodded his head at me and pecked my lips before disappeared into our room. I held my own hands and worry was filling me of Yami, Heba and even Atemu. Anything could be happening to Heba at this point...

Meanwhile....

*No one's POV*

He turned around, trying to see if anyone was around. Opening the door he heard giggles and turned around.

"Hello Mr Sennen!!" a young girl yelled. The person just waved and walked into the half door he had blown down. Maybe blowing up this place then hiding in it was stupid, but who would think to look in a place that was close to collapsing.

He walked through the building, dust and rusted metal around. He was glad he put a mask on his beloved because if something happened to him. Well he already planned what he would to himself.

The underground hatch he discovered a while ago came unto view and he crawled under, cutting his arm but not caring.

After a few minutes of walking he finally got to a small room that was covered up by a bedsheet. His smile grew, as he moved the sheet seeing his lover tied up, taped hands and feet, covered eyes and his mouth having the mask on.

"Hello my love, I have brought you some food. I thought you would be hungry," the man said and moved the mask. The other tied up whimpered, and tried to move away.

"A-Atemu...please let me go..." the tied up one said and Atemu laughed going between the others legs. 

"Yugi why would I let you go? We love each other don't we?" Atemu asked and grabbed a container with rice and meat. "Now say ahhh!"

Even though the person tied didn't want it, he opened his mouth because his stomach was growling constantly when he was on his own. Atemu was gentle with the person in front of him, because he knew one wrong move would make him cry.

"Yugi baby. I think it's time to uncover your eyes," Atemu said and the person wanted to shake his head. The cloth was moved, and light slightly touched his eyes. "You look so beautiful Yugi."

"I-I-I'm not Yugi... Atemu look at my eyes please," the younger finally cried and looked at Atemu in the eyes. "I'm Heba!!! Heba!!!"

Poor Heba, if Atemu wasn't possessed and slightly obsessed with Yugi, he would be cute with Heba. What do you guys think Yugi and Yami will do to rescue Heba and save Atemu?
