Chapter 40, Never out...

*No one's POV*

Yami had made it fast returning to the others, himself barely standing but he couldn't drop yet. Not with Yugi worse then him and with one foot. Heba was as close to him as he possibly could. Atemu. he kept his distance, he was traumatised for what had happened to everyone because of his darkness.

He had heard of the stories the group had been through, how many times they have encountered the shadow realm and they never thought they would end up back there. But now, he forced them back there to save him. 

Yugi was now one legged because of him, Yami had had some of his fingeres chewed off. And Heba, he has never seen stuff like this before and now had to witness it all at once. 

Once the group was caught up on everything, the injured boys were once again rushed to the hospital for medical care. Yami was easier to treat than Yugi, he would be discharged in the night with painkillers to take at home. 

Meanwhile Yugi would have to be kept in. He had lost a lot of blood, more blood than Yami. 

Everyone was chatted and Heba stood away, not really feeling like he fit in. He notcied though Atemu was slowly making his way to the door, making his move when he thought no one was looking and slipped out the door.

"I'll be back guys," Heba stated real fastand slipped through the door as well. Atemu was walking fast so Heba had to sprint to catch up with him. Everntally he got him at the entrance to the hospital. "Where are you going Atemu?"

"I need to leave," he said not turning around. "I came here, tolearn about this world. To learn about the old Pharoah and his Aibou, to learn love myself. I can only say I did once of those things. If I stay I'll hurt them even more. You included."

Heba just shook his head and walked faster to get in front of him and grabbed a hand leading him back in. Atemu dragged his feet, not wanting to re enter the buliding. He could'nt if he wanted. He had already contacted the gods through his mind to take him back.

"You can at least come and say bye to everyone el-"

"I don't have the time Heba," Atemu stated as he got his hand out of Heba's grip. The smaller one looked confused as Atemu motioned to go behind a tree to which he followed. "I have decided to cut my time here short. Annnnd the gods aren't too happy with me being tainted."

"But that's not something that is your fault is it? They can't hold that against you so you can stay here until your and my time runs out!"Heba exclaimed placing both his hand around Atem's. But he shook his head. "Please....contact them again and tell them you changed your mind."

"You of all people know that won't wo-"

"Then tell them thereis more issues!! I'm not ready for you to leave yet!!" Heba cried out jumping forward to hug Atemu. But he phased right through him. "NO YOU CAN'T GO!!!"

At this point a few nurses that were out with paitents had looked over to the boys with the amount of noise that Heba had just made but just shrugged it off and keeping walking. Not without a little side eye however.

"I couldn't stop it now even if I wanted," Atemu snickered as he looked at his hands. They were starting to go see through. "Heba, I never ever thanked you properly."

"For what," Heba sniffled as he had started to cry.

"You never gave up on me, even when I never looked at you. Never left my side, never stopped believing in me. I can't believe it took me leaving to finally understand everything," Atemu laugh. He placed what was left of his hand onto Heba's check and tried to wipe away his tears. "Ra my heart hurts knowing what I can't have now."

But hey, we'll se each other when you return won't we?" Atemu finished as most of his body was see through. Now, starting from the bottom up his body was disappearing. 

Heba was know a sobbing mess as he tried to grab any part of Atemu, but he just hit the ground. The other laughed as his disappearing was speeding up. 

Atemu leaned down, leaving a small kiss on Heba's cheek.

"I love you Heba."

With that, he was gone. 

Heba still couldn't process what had happened, sitting himself up and trying to compose himself. 

"Heba?" he heard and turned. Tea was standing there with a sad smile to hear face. In a way, it looked like she understood what had just happened. "He's gone, isn't he?"

Heba didn't talk, he just sniffled as he got up and slowly shuffled to her placing his head onto her shoulder. 

No more words were exchange for a few minutes, just Tea rubbing Heba's back as he finished his cry. He soon settled down and moved from her, him wiping his cheeks to get the tear stains away.

"Little bit better?" Tea asked and Heba nodded. "You'll see him soon again, come back up with me. The others were wondering where you went."

She held out her hand and Heba took it, they both went back up to the hospital room and saw the rest of the gang all laughing and cheering away. Even Yugi had woken up and had plasters on his face and neck.

"I haha, I swear we near enoug live inside hospitals we are never outta them!" Yami laughed out making the group all laugh with him. He locked eyes with Heba and scanned around them. He mouthed 'Atemu?' to Tea but she shook her head.

He made a mental note to have a small talk with Heba later on about everything, but for the mean time he wanted to spend his time trying to keep everyone's spirit high.

Think it's about time I finish this story eh? I'm gonna make it go to 45 then that shall be the end of the It's Too Hard series.
