Chapter 22, Slipping...

*Yami's POV*
"And that's a wrap kids, take care going back," I said and let them pack up. The bell went off and all the students ran out. So Christmas is coming around the corner? That gives me an idea.

"Yami! You still in here!?!" I heard Yugi yelled as he peaked into my classroom. Again I can hear a change in his voice, is my mind playing tricks on me? "Yami take a look outside, it's started to snow."

I didn't notice it, but he was right. Snow was falling and it was coming down heavy. "Looks like it's gonna pile up, and it's gonna get colder at night," I said and looked at my phone. It was 3 degrees...It's bad I like the cold, Yugi always cuddles up at night to me.

"Yugi, you head home with Joey. I'm gonna spend some time with Seto," I said and he happily agreed bouncing off. Atemu steped in from the side and had a frown on him. "Oh what's got you in the dump?"

"Yugi...I'm sure you've noticed his behaviour. His voice, even the way he is dressing. He is resembling you, a little too much. I don't know if he's doing this for fun but your rubbing off on him."

"You got a problem with that? If that's the way he wants to be then let him do his own thing. The gods told me this would've happened if I was here or not," I said and Atemu just shock his head.

"It's true, when you go back ask them yourself. They don't understand the reasons either." I said but he didn't move. Then next he punched the wall and let out a scream.

"NO! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT! IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU HE WOULD BE A NORMAL PERSON!" he yelled and lunged at me. I could see black mist surrounding his body, is that the spirit? I waited for him to get close then moved out of the way, sticking out my leg to make him trip and smack his head against the wall .

"Atemu calm down! Your letting your emotions control you!" I yelled and went to go near him, but he kicked me and I landed on my back. When I went to sit up, Atemu was already up and walked over to me.

"Why don't you ask the gods...when I send you back to the afterlife!"he yelled and grabbed my throat. His grip was too strong and I could feel nails digging into my throat. I tried kicking but he was sitting on my legs, so I tried to punch him. It's wasn't very effective...

Everywhere was spinning, my vision was going blank as I felt my body going num. Am I actually going to die? No I can't! The pain was getting too much and I knew it was the end. I closed my eyes...knowing what was to come next...

"Yami!!!!" I heard and felt the pressure leave me neck. I started coughing, trying to get back my breath. I was lifted from the ground and felt something warm. I finally opened my eyes again after getting my breath back and saw Atemu being contained on the ground by Seto and Joey.

I felt something wet drop on my cheek and looking up I saw Yugi over me, crying his eyes out. "Yo Atemu dude! Calm down!" Joey yelled and glancing over Atemu was thrashing around under their grasp.

"Yami...are you alright?" Yugi asked and I tried to speak but nothing came out. I just nodded my head but Yugi didn't stop. "I-If only I stay here...I could of stopped this from happening..."

'Aibou, I'd rather this happen to me then to you so don't worry too much', I said through our mind link and he gave me a little nod. Yugi helped me up to my feet and looking over at the others Atemu was passes out.

"He wouldn't stop moving so I knocked him out. He would of tried something with Joey if I didn't," Seto said and shook his hand. We decided to go back to the hotel, which ruined my plans.

Joey and Seto took Atemu back to their room while Yugi helped me. He placed me down on my bed and kept himself facing away from me. "Aibou...come on..." I said and he turned a little.

I got my voice back a little bit but it still hurt to talk. "I'll call the headmaster and tell him you can't work for a little bit," he said and went to get up. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him down, he landed right on top of me.

"Just stay...it's cold..."I mumbled and he soon enough gave up. He fixed himself in my bed and I wrapped my arms around him, he cuddling into my chest.

"I'll try better Yami..."he mumbled and got even closer. "I'll...try...harder..."

The room went silent as he passed out in my arms. If we don't figure out what is going on soon, he is going to suffer again. I can't live with myself if any harm comes to him again. Since tomorrow I'll be off I'll just use that time to research. I just need to wait till everyone is away to slip out.

0-0 well Atemu lost it a little bit. Also what is it with Yami and injuring his back? Eh no one will ever know. Also what are Yami's plans for Christmas? Mysterys mysterys...
