Chapter 27, Out for the count...

*Yami's POV*

The driver let all of us go with Atemu to the hospital but Heba went into the car that came with the ambulance. Yugi was just staring at Atemu as the nurse was working. "Yugi he'll be fine, the doctors will help him," I said and put a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me and nodded his head. He switched to the seat beside me and put his head on my shoulder.

"Forgive me for asking boys, but what are you to this man? Do you know anything about him?" a nurse asked and we both froze up. We...didn't except any of these questions at least not yet. I had to think fast, Yugi went through a little bit of a ruff time back there.

"He's er....my twin brother. But he moved away with my mother when we were very young so I don't know him that well," I said and she nodded her head going back to her work. We both let out a sigh in relief but then my gaze was on Atemu again. The demon that is trying to take him, he is losing the battle of it. That's why he passed out because he had no strength to even keep his body awake.

 Once we got to the hospital Atemu was rushed off and we had to be in the waiting room. "The headmaster is aware of what has happened and has asked us to be in tomorrow even if it is for only half a day," Yugi said and showed me the messages between them. 

The time was going by slow for myself, but it quickly became 2 hours we were waiting with still no word. I told Yugi and Heba I was going to go out and let Seto and everyone else know what has happened and called him.

"Well well well Yami, you and Yugi been kept up in your room all day? Remember you have Heba and Atemu living with you!!" I heard and knew Mai was teasing us again. I heard rustling from the other side of the phone and Seto yelling at Mai.

"Sorry Yami, Mai saw the name and grabbed my phone. What's up? Haven't heard anything from you since this morning," he said and I took a deep breath. After a long chat with Seto I heard the others in the background. "Alright so I guess the great new Pharaoh is now in hospital. Hows Yugi 2.0 doing?"

"Seto his name is Heba. And hes fine he is talking with Yugi. I just think that seeing Atemu like that shocked him a little." I said and leaned against the frosty wall. Oh yeah I forgot what my plan was for Christmas and I haven't explained it to Seto. "Hey I wanna tell you something but it has to be face to face. "Seto I'll call you back I'm going to head in now."

After hanging up I saw that Yugi and Heba were playing a duel. Heba sort of reminds me of what Yugi was like when he was 16 but I'm pretty sure that Heba is the same age as us. "And that's a game Heba, maybe next time. You did really well though," Yugi said and raised his arms in victory.

"Aww man I was doing so well! Your not known for being joint King of Games for no reason Yugi," Heba said and scoped up his cards. I didn't know Heba even had a deck, maybe it was a spare one of Yugi's? They saw me walk in and waved at me to come over but I saw the same nurse that was in the ambulance come into the room.

"Yami Sennen? Are you here?" she said and I went to her after telling the others I would be back soon. She took me up to a room but stopped me outside of the door. "Now I'll warn you, he isn't in good shape. It might be better if only you see him since your his brother."

I thanked her and opened the door to hear the beeping of a monitor. I saw Atemu attached to two different machines and an oxygen mask around his mouth. I sat in the seat beside him and the nurse followed me in. "I'm sorry to say that he...has fallen into a coma. The only way we can help him is when he wakes up. We can't give you a date of when he will wake up but we'll keep in contact."

"Thank you very much. I need to go back and tell the others. They are very worried about him. Would it be alright if one comes up to see him, he is...err his boyfriend," I asked and knew that I would be shot at sight if Atemu heard me say that...but the nurse agreed to let Heba come up so I think I did good? 

I went down and got Heba to come to the door. "You might get a shock when you see him but don't worry too much. Also if the nurse asks if your connected with him, say your his boyfriend. Trust me it'll be fine," I said and Heba nodded his head even though he looked so confused. We had a quick hug before he went with the nurse to see Atemu.

I went to Yugi and slumped down in the seat beside him and collapsed on his knees. "Hey what's up? How is he?" he asked and tapped my head. I got back up because the way we were wasn't clever.

"He...is in a coma. The doctors will keep in touch with me. Until then we just need to wait and hope that Atemu will continue to fight, "I said and Yugi put his head on my shoulder. Atemu...you need to fight. We may of had a rough path but I don't want you to die....

So the darkness has taken over Atemu's body, but what about his mind? What is Yami's big plan for Christmas?
