Chapter 18, I'm not stupid...

IM SO SORRY FOR THIS WIERD UPDATE. IT GOT MESSED UP....

*Yugi's POV*
They have been gone too long... The curfew to be in the hotel is 2am and they only have half on hour left. I can't leave Yami here on his own. When I was just about to head out they came through the door, but with Seto close behind. Joey looks like he has been hit... and Seto looks like he wants to hit something.

"What the heck happened? Did someone attack you?" I asked and tried to grab Joey's arm but he just went passed me and to my room.

"Just some....thugs we had to deal with. Tell Joey to come back when he can," Seto said and left. I just glanced between the door and Atemu. He just motioned at the door and I took my leave. Seto was waiting for me in the hall like he knew I wanted to talk.

He let me in and his apartment is identical to mine. "Duke's asleep so try and keep the noise down,"he said and sat down. I sat on the other side of him since it was a one seat. "So what's on your mind?"

"What exactly did happen out there? What did this thug look?" I asked and....did I just see him flinch?

"Just your normal guy look why are you so invested in this? We delt with it so just leave it,"he said and I could tell he was getting irritated.

"Is that Joey screamed Yami's name!?! You forget I can mind link to him as well!" I yelled and Seto's eyes widened. I tried it a while again because I knew Yami could do it. I just wanted to be on the same level as him.

"Fine you wanna know ask Joey because it's not my place to say it when he's asked me not to," he said and grabbed a book.

Thanking him for the little info I got, I left his apartment and to my own. Joey was in the living room and Atemu, no where to be seen. "Joey...a word?" I asked and he turned to face me, but I saw he had a bruise on his arm.

"Sure....what is it Yugi?" He asked and his voice...it sounds so cold... I had to take him out of the room and to the hotel lobby, out of ear range.

"What really happened Joey, because I know it wasn't some random people," I said and he didn't even look at me. I don't think he knows I can mind link to him. If he didn't yelll out Yami's name I wouldn't suspect anything.

"....Atemu....he is the one who did this. We had a little disagreement but it got settled."

"By what? A fight!?! How long were you guys gonna hid this from me huh!?!" I yelled and slammed my arm on the chair. Joey didn't flinch at all, he just stared off outside. The rain was coming down hard, probably the storm.

I looked around and saw there wasn't many people in the lobby, but the amount of people that were there were looking at us. "Yugi, Joey..."I heard and when I turned I saw someone I didn't expect. Yami...

"I've heard everything and I think I have something that might help us," he said and took a seat beside me. "Something is going  around with everyone that has been in the shadow games."

"Is it something to do with our souls? But even then Atemu hasn't been in a shadow game so how is it affecting him?" Joey asked and finally faced us.

"Yes it's the soul. When we either get too sad or angry a evil spirit will see that weakness and take over. That why when I first found you Yugi your soul was slipping." He explained and it started to sink in. I remember it with horror...but that was ages ago.

"I know it was ages ago Aibou, but the point is that since we were exposed to it, it still lingers. If we let down our guard too much something will take us again ago," he said and held my hand.

"Looks like the old Pharaoh still has knows his things," someone said. Seto had come from his room and had joined us. Joey got from his seat and ran to him, giving him a hug. "So what? We can't have human emotions now?"

"We can just 1, don't let your guard down and 2, if you can help it make sure your with someone. If there's two people the thing won't try to attack. Yugi I wanna speak to you alone if you will." Yami asked and Seto and Joey were already leaving.

"You had enough sleep YamI?" I asked and tried to sound cheery. Since he heard everything, he knows about Atemu hitting Joey.

"Enough about me, we have another problem with Atemu. He seems to have a problem with his emotions so he might be under a demon's control already.  Don't go near him on your own."

"Ugh again with protecting me? I don't need this Yami. We're the Kings of duel monsters so there's no way I'm in danger. The others need to know about this," I said and got up. Yami walked back with me but stopped us before going in.

"Not a word to him alright? I don't even think he knows what he is doing," he whispered and I gave him a nod. He kissed me on the cheek and headed in, I followed close behind.

See this, it's a game of chess. It moves slow at the start but soon enough...the game really begins. That time....is NOW!
Hehe sorry thought that would be funny. So, even after all these years of peace and they are stilll having trouble.
