On getting inside the building, Charlotte realised it was just someone from the crowd having the time of her life, the same lady who had said 'I like danger'.
Kai pulled his sister by the arm trying to get her attention "we need to contact the others —"
"There won't be need for that " Lottie interrupted
"guys thank goodness you're okay, we need to get out of here now! " Charlotte explained
"why?" Rufus asked with his hands crossed and his head held high
"I'll explain later, there's no time" she said
She held Lottie by the hand in an attempt to pull her out of the building but Lottie resisted
"What are you doing, come on!!" she yelled
"no" Lottie bluntly replied
"what?"
"we're not leaving char, and neither are you "
"what are you talking about, you don't know what you are getting yourself into "
"Oh we know " Rufus said with an evil grin
"What? " Charlotte replied looking amused
Lottie jacked free from her hold and Charlotte stared at her.
"Esmay told us everything" Lottie said eying her friend before looking away
"and I didn't need to hear anything cause I knew all along " Chase added
"how could you babe? " Rufus said looking disgusted
"look guys I'm sorry, I know I should have told you but I was scared you would think I'm crazy! "
"I'm your best friend... Char" Lottie exclaimed with her index finger pointing at herself
She continued "we were supposed to tell each other everything, how could you? "
Lottie was about crying but she gathered herself together and locked every drop of tear back in their cages.
"I'm really sorry, I know I let you down, big time... But we don't have time, since you know everything why don't you want to leave? " she asked looking confused
"we want to play Charlotte " Myrtle said
"you can't !!!" Charlotte yelled which caught the attention of almost every living soul in the building
"you can't tell us what to do " Myrtle added
"yeah, we're cutting you off" Lottie said
"what is that supposed to mean?"
"it means sweetheart, you are no longer our friend, Esmay is our new friend. I'm pretty sure she would never lie to us " Rufus said with confidence
"what? " Charlotte asked looking pitiful
They just ignored and walked away.
Rufus stopped mid-way and turned back. He leaned closer to whisper in Charlotte's ear and said "oh and babe, it's over "
Charlotte just stood there watching him walk away, she watched his back as he disappeared into the crowd
She was speechless and also in tears, the only person who was there to comfort her was her brother—kai.
"hey —"
She interrupted him"something's not right, it's obvious they are not their selves, we need to help them somehow —"
"Charlotte... I need you to calm down, I understand you but in order to do that, we need a plan don't you think? "
"you're right, a plan... What do we do? "
"hey, I'll think of something, why don't you get yourself something to drink, just to calm your nerves okay" he said squeezing her shoulders trying to get her to relax
"okay "
She wiped her tears away and went to pour herself a drink.

Sitting on an old patched chair at a corner of the room, Charlotte sipped her drink while thinking of a plan to save all those people and her best friends, a slim figure emerged from the crowd with her ponytail bouncing behind her, you could already tell who it was.
She had on a red long dress like something you would wear to a ball or a classy party. Her face was plastered with excessive make up and her tiny lips matched her dress.
She approached Charlotte in her red bottom heel and stood confidently in front of her with her hands on her waist.
Charlotte raised her head up and her eyes met with that if Esmay.
"how does it feel? " Esmay asked glaring at Charlotte
"what do you mean? " Charlotte questioned resting on the chair
"to have the things you cherish taken away from you, how does it feel?"
Charlotte stood up and now they were at the same level and Esmay crossed her arms around her chest waiting for Char to reply. On getting no reply, she continued
"it sucks doesn't it"
"what do you want from me? " ignoring what Esmay had said
"I know how it feels, to have your loved one taken away from you" she said staring at the ceiling
"what does that have to do with me? "
"do you really want to pretend like you don't know " she said glaring at her this time
"I really don't, please do tell " Charlotte replied out of anger
Esmay scoffed then glared at Charlotte trying to see if she was lying or not, Charlotte stared back expecting a reply. The odd silence between the two soon ended as Esmay brought out her phone swiping through it searching for a particular picture then points the phone at Charlotte's face as soon as she found the picture.
"Does this seem familiar to you?" she said still pointing the phone at Charlotte's face
She couldn't believe the face she had seen on the phone, she swiped the phone from Esmay trying to get a better look at the picture.
She slowly raised her head locking gazes with Esmay "no way! " she said nodding her head in disbelief
