Chapter 5

Charlotte smiled and hugged her mother "don't worry mom, I'm fine, ill be alright and Lottie as well " she said reassuringly hugging her mother tight.

They both smiled at each other and Mrs Rose took her daughter's hands and said " thank you for being strong " squeezing her daughter's hands tight.

She gave Myrtle a hug as well and turned towards her car and drove away.

The girls went back inside and Myrtle threw herself to her bed while Charlotte just stood in front of her bed staring at Lottie's empty bed.

Charlotte was filled with guilt and rage as well, she didn't know weather to cry or smile about Lottie's situation .

Lottie was alive but also on the edge of death.

Charlotte threw herself on her bed and soon, she was fast asleep. She met herself in a strange land. She was confused and it didn't look like it was a dream.

CHARLOTTE'S DREAM
Am I dead?, is this hell?, where am I?. I don't understand what is happening anymore "ahhhhhhhhh" a voice screamed from a nearby cave.

"Should I go in, should I run away" she thought but something inside her told her to go in.

She walked into the dark cold cave and what is this?, blood? Just the thoughts of it sent shivers to her spine.

"ahhhhhhhhhh somebody help me " the voice is louder and clearer and this time the voice was asking for help.

It sounded like......

Charlotte woke up gasping, breathing heavily. She held on to her chest, she felt her heart pounding, it was like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.

"Lottie, Lottie is in trouble, she's hurts, she's bleeding she's.... " Charlotte was interrupted by Mrtlye, " she's what? " .

Charlotte stared at Myrtle with shock written all over her face.

She was sweating so much and was shaking in fear. Myrtle went to meet her in her bed and hugged her tight, just what Charlotte needed at the moment.

"It's all a bad dream, Lottie will be fine, you don't have to worry too much " Myrtle said in a calming tone. "since we are taking tomorrow off how about we pay Lottie a visit? " Myrtle suggested and Charlotte was in support of her idea.

She nodded positively and Myrtle gave a smile and laid her to bed and cuddled her through the night.

The ray of sunshine shone in through the window and reflected on Charlotte's face.  It was exactly 8am, they had set the alarm clock to 8am since they weren't going to class and visiting hours for Lottie wasn't until 10am.

Charlotte sat up in her bed and stretched her hand to turn off the alarm.

She stretched her hands into the air letting out a yawn. She went into the bathroom and freshens up.

She made her hair into a ponytail, dressed in blue jeans and a black crop top with a black leather jacket and today, she preferred contacts to glasses.

Myrtle got dressed as well for the day and they both set out for a walk.

They made a stop at a cafe and ordered coffees.

Few minutes to 10, both girls were on the trail leading to the hospital .

They got there a few minutes after 10 and Charlotte was hesitant, she didn't know weather to enter or not.

Myrtle taps her on the back meaning " you'll be fine ".

Charlotte clenched her fists together and took a step forward, before she realised it, she was already next to Lottie's bed.

She sat next to Lottie and grabbed Lottie's hands.

"can you give us a minute? " char asked Myrtle. "oh yeah sure, no problem " Myrtle said as she made a u turn and heads towards the door. She held onto the knob and took one more look at Charlotte who seemed to be smiling then she exited the room.
Charlotte took a look at poor Lottie and felt nothing but pity, Lottie laid there like a lifeless body.

The memories of Lottie's accident flashed through her mind and she hated herself for it was all her fault.

She wondered if she should tell her friends about the danger ahead but she wondered again maybe she should wait till the game started.

Charlotte was heart broken and her eyes were filled with tears "this is all my fault " she said as she tightens her grip on Lottie's hand. "if I hadn't brought this stupid game, If I had...... " she couldn't finish her sentences for she couldn't hold back her tears.

She burst into tears, she wept bitterly and didn't let go of Lottie's hand.

She cried for several minutes thinking about the calamity she had brought against the poor girl.

"I promise you I'll get you out of this game, somehow I will, you won't get hurt, ill always be right here for you " she said in a sad time as she wipes away her tears.

Four days had past and there was no sign of the demon and no one else was hurt.

Charlotte was in class but wasn't paying attention, all that was on her mind was to visit Lottie at the hospital.

Charlotte visited Lottie everyday and read to her what they were taught, she would read stories for her and sometimes have sleepovers.

The more the days past the closer the holiday was which made Charlotte worried.

That very day when Charlotte got to the hospital, a miracle had happened, Lottie was awake.

Six days after her accident, Lottie had finally awakened with a sweet smile on her face.

Charlotte was filled with joy but at the same time she wasn't happy, now that Lottie was awake, she wasn't save anymore.

Surprisingly, Lottie seemed almost completely healed, she could walk on her own although her steps were wobbly and her head was perfectly fine, she didn't loose her memory, not even the slightest bit of it.

Lottie realised her best friend was just standing in the lobby so she called out to her "Charlotte".

Charlotte was in a hurry to hug her best friend so tight. She ran as fast as she could but something caught her attention.

A black shadowy figure seemed to be standing right next to Lottie, the figure took shape of a man but all she could see on the face was the wide long smile the creepy figure had on his face.

Charlotte realised it wasn't the first time she was seeing that shadow, either she saw it in a mirror or on the ground. That was when she realized it wasn't her imagination but the demon had been around her all the time, it never left.

Imagine seeing a creepy thing like that standing right next to you, creepy huh
