Chapter 29: I-Island & Melissa

3rd Pov:

Izuku was currently sitting in the staff room. He was reviewing the footage from the final exams since he was out on a patrol during it. Overall... he had to say he wasn't surprised with everything that happened during it. Most of it went as he expected. He was always impressed with Shinso's quirk (Remember he is in this class instead of Midoriya himself!). Shinso made good use of the quirk as he was paired up with another student and was placed against Aizawa who could negate it and be able to talk. Though he did get Aizawa by changing his voice via the support gear to Izuku's voice. He used Izuku's voice to trick Aizawa. He used Izuku's voice and did a cry of help which shocked Aizawa into responding which trapped him and got him cuffed. Bakugo was with Kirishima and had to fight All Might which somehow they won by escaping. Bakugo wanted to blast All Might but gave up after a while and agreed to escape after Kirishima took a punch for him which guilt-tripped Bakugo into leaving and doing a tactical retreat or as Bakugo would call it, a retreating to kick All Might's ass later on retreat. Izuku shooked his head at that. 

However, Izuku realized that it was time for the trip to I-Island as well. Izuku remembered the last trip he took there with All Might. It was fun and he got to meet Melissa which caused Izuku to blush a bit at remembering her. Izuku shook his head... he knew that it wasn't going to be possible... not with what was coming for him likely. He didn't want to commend her to heartache. However, he did remember how they got along and how she kissed him on the cheek last time... 'GODDAMMIT! WHY DOES MY HEART HURT SO MUCH! I KNOW VERY WELL I CAN'T EVER TAKE THAT ANYWHERE!' Izuku thought. Aizawa had come into the room and saw Izuku's expression. "What's wrong Izuku?" Aizawa asked concerned. Izuku came out of his thoughts and stood up. "NOTHING! IT'S NOTHING! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!" Izuku shouted sporting a large blush. Aizawa had an idea of 'what' it was about but decided to tease the kid. "Girl trouble?" he said with a smirk. "I don't know.. are you and Mic screwing yet?" Izuku said blunting and Aizawa choked on his coffee and glared at Izuku. "Anyway... it's not meant to be..." Izuku said and Aizawa was confused at that statement. "Why isn't it meant to be?" Aizawa asked and Izuku tensed up. 'I wasn't meant to hear that was I?' Aizawa thought as he watched Izuku since he tensed up. Izuku then looked at Izuku before speaking. "There is no way she would want to be with me... I have to keep so many secrets... then she would need to deal with my episodes of depressions when I just go sit out at the memorial for hours each day. Not to mention anything else that I haven't mentioned. She doesn't need to deal with a basket case of problems." Izuku said as he went back to looking at the videos of the final exam. Aizawa was in shock... "Kid... have you talked to anyone about this or is this the first time you talked about it?" Aizawa asked. Izuku just shooked his head. "First time I started to think about it again. The girl lives on I-Island. Her name is Melissa Shields." Izuku said as he explained how the last trip went between them. Aizawa nodded his head and sat down next to Izuku. 

"Kid... just try it with her and see how it goes. If you are worried about the secrets of the quirk then tell her. She's the niece of All Might and would be willing to keep it a secret without a doubt. Also, tell All Might that you intend to tell her since you see it as an issue of starting a relationship with her." Aizawa said. Izuku just sat there and nodded his head but in his mind, he knew that those were the real reasons why he felt uncomfortable about not getting with her... it's because of his fate to die in the battle against All For One. If the assumptions of the first user are right then Izuku will be forced to use the final smash. 

Soon Izuku finished looking over the final exams and decided to go back to his room. He sat on his bed thinking about Melissa Shields. 'God... I fell hard for her without even realizing it.' Izuku thought. He pulled up his phone and texted her. They had stayed in contact for the most part but Izuku had let the actions he did that night escape him until now.
