Chapter 36: Aftermath Pt. 2

3rd POV:

It was an entire week later before Izuku showed any signs of waking up. He started to move a lot more often and the medical liquid was replaced at the start of each day and after dinner each night to ensure he was getting the best results from the medical liquid. They wanted his body to heal as much as it could in addition to Recovery Girl using her quirk on Izuku. Recovery Girl announced that at the rate it was going they should see him awake by the end of the following weak and as it appears there will be no lasting damage due to the medical liquid healing his body in a combination with her quirk. "Overall, the medical liquid is seeping in every fiber of his body and it's healing anything and everything. What we need to be concerned about is the strength he will have when he wakes up. I'm afraid that he might have destroyed his quirk and sapped away at his natural body strength. We can only know once he wakes up and tries to move." Recovery Girl said one day. The media was informed of Izuku's recovery and the expected date that he would awake. Everyone was on hold to see if he would wake up. They have already dubbed him as the next symbol of peace. The hero of courage: Fulcrum. All Might even provide a statement that his protege was a strong individual and wouldn't be surprised to see him up and back at hero work the moment the doctors cleared him. 

Endeavor tried to position himself as the next number one hero but that was quickly shut down by the public calling him out on his disgusting priorities. The backlash was quick and decisive. It was projected that Endeavor would likely fall from his number two hero rank and Hawks would go up to that spot. It was also projected that if Izuku could return to hero duty that he would be announced as the number one hero due to the events and him being called the next symbol of peace. Class 1-A and especially Todoroki found it funny that Endeavor got hit like that. Todoroki was hoping that Endeavor did indeed fall from the ranks and that Fulcrum replaced the number one spot. Though they just wanted him to wake up first before anything else happened. They wanted their senpai back. 

Soon the next week arrived and went. Izuku didn't wake up... everyone spirits dropped at that. They all went home and decided to wait. Though after they all left they missed it. Izuku Midoriya woke up and lifted himself out of the medical liquid. "Guess Melissa really did finish this," Izuku said as he groaned. His body was really sore. 'God... my body feels horrible. Going to take a  lot of training to recover my strength.' Izuku thought. He activated One For All and helped himself out of the tube and to stand. 'Power... it's weaker. It feels like I lost about a quarter of the power!' Izuku thought. He rolled his eyes at the power that was lost and sat down in the chair next to the tube. He kept the monitors on him so it didn't alert anyone. 

'So... 25% power gone... that would put me near where All Might received One For All from the 7th user. That isn't horrible. It' means in my prime I will be more or less the same strength as he was but I might be able to push it past his prime power likely since the internal space is there to be filled in. The power was just lost due to everything that happened.' Izuku thought. He decided to be a prick though as he got a fun idea. Well fun to him. He decided to rip off all the monitors from his chest that triggered the alarms to go off. Izuku just smirked and watched the door. 'WAIT! IF RECOVERY GIRL IS HERE SHE IS GOING TO HIT ME WITH THE CANE! OH, GOD!' Izuku thought as you know it! Recovery Girl came rushing into the room! He looked at her and she looked at him. She came over and just hugged him. "No cane?" He asked surprised and then she hit him with the cane. "OUCH DON'T HIT THE FORMERLY DEAD!" Izuku said as a joke. Then he noticed tears rolling down her face. "I'm sorry don't cry! I won't make tasteless jokes anymore!" Izuku said as he waved his hands in front of him. She just shook her head and then started to speak. "You idiot... you've been in a coma for two weeks! You are lucky your girlfriend created this medical bath or you would be dead right now! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!" Recovery Girl stated. Izuku just nodded his head fastly. She closed the door and asked him some questions.
