Christian Harrington ran through his house looking for spare change. His brown hair flew behind him. His black Vans hit the ground as he frantically ran around. He wore a pair of jeans, a grey and blue striped shirt and finished the look with his school baseball team jacket and his bright red sunglasses.
"Chris! I found some change!" His brother, Steve Harrington yelled from the living room. Chris ran to him and he threw him the pouch of coins.
"You are the best," He smiled. "I'm going, see you later!" He waved before running out of the door. He grabbed his skateboard and hopped on. And with that, he was on his way to join his friends at the arcade.
Chris had four best friends. Mike, his oldest friend who was like a second brother, Lucas, who Chris trusted with his life, Dustin, who never failed to make him laugh, and last but not least, Will. Will Byers and Chris Harrington had been friends since they were young. But as years passed both started getting feelings for each other. But both didn't know what they were and what to do with them. And the adventures of last year didn't really help.
Chris thought back to Eleven a lot and he missed the doe-eyes girl a lot. But not as much as Mike misses her. What happened last year had changed Chris forever, some for the good but some for the bad.
One thing that has changed drastically was Chris's bond with his parents. And with that, he meant that his parents were rarely home. Chris had stopped pretending and somehow his parents didn't hate him. They despised him and left him alone with Steve for most times of the year. Which he actually didn't mind.
Chris finally reached the arcade and hopped off his skateboard. He saw three familiar boys arrive and he waved at them before putting on his sunglasses and putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
"Sup, losers?" Hee asked with a smirk and Mike, Dustin and Lucas rolled their eyes before parking their bikes.
"Shut up, Harrington," Lucas said with a small smirk and the two chuckled. They heard a car honk and saw Joyce dropping off Will. Chris immediately started smiling and it was like his whole day brightened.
"You're blushing," Mike teased and Chris punched his arm just as Will joined the group. They walked inside the arcade and towards one of the games.
"To slay the dragon, use the magic sword." The princess from Dragon's Lair said. Chris rolled his eyes as he could basically see the hearts in Dustin's eyes.
"Oh, Jesus! I'm in unchartered territory here, guys." Dustin said while focusing on the game.
"Down! Down! Down!" Lucas yelled as action started happening.
"I'm going! I'm going!" Dustin replied while moving the joystick. They all cheered Dustin on as it looked like he was going to win. But then, he got burned.
"Oof, that's rough buddy." Chris sighed and softly tapped Dustin's shoulder.
"No! No! No! I hate this overpriced bullshit!" He exclaimed as Mike, who had grown taller by a lot even though Chris wasn't a lot shorter than him, leaned his arm on Chris's shoulder. "Son of a bitch! Piece of shit!"
"You're not nimble enough. But you'll get there one day. But until then, Princess Daphne is still mine." Lucas said and Chris rolled his eyes.
"You do know she's not real, right?" He asked with one eyebrow pulled up and he heard both Will and Mike chuckled. "Oh, and Mike?" He asked and turned to the raven-haired boy. "Get your arm off me or you won't have an arm." He said with a smile and Mike quickly retreated his arm.
