Christian Harrington threw a baseball into the air and caught it easily. His hair was in its usual cool messy middle part and he wore some baggy jeans, a white T-shirt, his baseball jacket, his classic black Vans and on the top of his head were his trademark old worn-out bright red sunglasses. He looked at the clock and sighed. His friends were almost late for the movies. Not that they were gonna be wasting money. They weren't paying anyway.
"They'll come. Now stop throwing that thing, it's getting on my nerve," Steve Harrington, Chris's older brother said as he cleaned his ice-cream scooper. They were in the backroom of Scoops Ahoy, the ice-cream parlour where Steve worked in the new and amazing Starcourt mall.
"Fine," Chris scoffed and put the baseball into his pocket just as the bell from the front door rang.
"Hey, dingus and brother-of-dingus, your children/friends are here," Robin called and Steve slid the window open.
"Again? Seriously?" Steve asked annoyed while Chris leaned on the counter next to him.
"Took you guys long enough," He smirked as Mike rang the small bell again. Steve led them through the backdoor as Chris had the bag with all the snacks. Chris walked next to Will and smiled at him with a slight blush. Over time, Chris had gotten a lot taller, he was just as tall as Mike now making him taller than Will.
"I swear, if anybody hears about this—" Steve started.
"We're dead!" Chris, Will, Mike, Max and Lucas all replied before they hurried to the movie theatres. They snuck throw the backdoor and Mike opened the door to make sure everything was good.
"All clear," He said and the party quickly blended into the group of people. They took their seats just as the movie was about to start, Chris sitting in between Mike and Will. Chris took out the snacks and drinks and started handing them to his friends, keeping a bag of Skittles to himself.
"See, Lucas? We made it." Mike sneered at Lucas.
"We missed the previews," Lucas complained.
"Still made it. Fart face." Max shot back and Chris chuckled before the two high-fived. Another thing that changed over time was Chris and Max's friendship. They had a lot of things in common and therefore became best friends very quickly. She was also the only one from the party who knew he was gay. The movie finally started and Chris got comfortable in his seat before popping a skittle in his mouth. He put his hand down but then flinched.
"What happened?" Mike whispered as he and Will looked at Chris with concern.
"I got an electric shock, it's nothing, don't worry," He whispered back before they went back to the movies. Somehow Chris had started getting a lot of electric shocks. Everything with electricity was weird around him, but he just brushed it off. But after a few seconds of watching the movie, it stopped.
"Come on!" Mike yelled with everyone else.
"I want my money back!" Chris yelled.
"We didn't even pay," Will said to him with a smile and he just shrugged.
"Makes it seem more realistic," He explained and the two chuckled before yelling at the screen again. But little did they know that the electricity went off everywhere. "Wait watch this," He joked to Will and held out his hand. He snapped his fingers and like magic, the electricity returned to the movie theatre, but only there before it came back everywhere.
"Okay, that was pure luck," Will scoffed with a smile as everyone cheered for the movie being back.
"Yeah, luck," Chris whispered, but something felt off, especially when his head started hurting out of nowhere.
