Chris nervously looked at the bandages on his arm as he skated towards Max's place. What happened yesterday night was... weird. But Chris convinced himself that it was just the heat and him being tired. But just in case he put some bandage around his lower right arm where the scars were. He wore some loose jean shorts, a blue, purple and green striped shirt, his classic black vans and of course, his bright red sunglasses. He reached Max's house and hopped off his skateboard, getting a static shock when he picked the board up.

"Hey, Cap," Max smiled as she squinted her eyes from the bright sun.

"Hey, Zoomer. Ready to learn some new tricks?" He replied and Max nodded happily. Chris came out to Max a few months after everything went down.

"He just said that? You don't say shit like that to your girlfriend," Max exclaimed as she sat down on the sidewalk next to Chris who was laughing at the story. "How about you?" She then asked and Chris knitted his eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean?" He asked and Max rolled her eyes.

"Why don't you have a girlfriend yet?" She asked and Chris softly looked away. "I mean, it's not like girls don't like you. You're funny, nice, the captain of the baseball team and not to mention cute," Max teased and Chris softly pushed her shoulder.

"It's just that... I like someone," He confessed and Max's eyes widened with a smile.

"Oh, my God! Who? Do I know her? Is she cute? Is it that girl from the snowball?" She asked frantically and Chris sighed as he knew that what he was about to say could ruin everything.

"He," He corrected and this time Max looked confused.

"What?" She asked.

"He. The person I like is Will," He confessed and Max's face turned into shock. "I'm gay... or bisexual... or pansexual—I'm not quite sure yet. But I do know that I have a massive crush on Will." He finished and Max soon started smiling softly.

"Cool," She smiled and Chris let out a relieved chuckle. "Does that mean we can talk to each other about boys now?" She joked and Chris rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, don't expect me to become your gay best friend now. I'm still who I was before." He smiled. But from that moment, Chris and max became best friends.

Chris was trying to teach Max how to flip her board while jumping, but it wasn't really working.

"Okay, try again," Chris said as he did the trick first. "Now remember—"

"Balance is key. I know," Max replied before trying to do the trick again and failing. The board rolled away from her but got stopped by a doe-eyed girl.

"Hey, El," Chris waved softly as El walked towards the two and handed Max her skateboard.

"Hi," She said.

"Hi?" Max said awkwardly.

"Can we talk?"

Chris leaned against the wall in Max's room as they listened to El explained what happened between her and Mike "... And then he said he—he missed me. And then he just hung up."

"He's a piece of shit," Max replied.

"What?" El asked confused and Chris ley out a frustrated sigh at Mike.
