Lexi POV:

To get rid of the strong smell of the herbs from my neck, I had to wipe it with water, and put on the most unisex-like perfume, I could find, to neutralise the herbs scent. I placed the cloth, that I had used to soak the remaining herb liquid mixture, into a small plastic bag, and then into the pocket of the blazer. If anyone were to come into my apartment for whatever reason, I couldn't leave any evidence of the mixture behind.

I closed my apartment door gently as I left the room, and then paced towards the elevator; to get out of the building, I would have to pass some guards, so I needed to keep my head down most of the time to avoid both eye-contact, and conversation, but also as a way to shield my face from CCTV cameras. I managed to get to the reception easily, as no other person entered the elevator I was in.

There were a minority of guards standing around the walls of the reception room, and I felt their eyes observing me, as I walked with my head down, to the front doors. As I exited the doors, one of the two security guards that stood besides the outside of the doors, stopped me. "ID sir." He demanded gruffly. I showed them the ID badge I had taken from the passed out guard in my room, who's name according to his badge, was Chris. He didn't bother checking the ID badge, and instead he swiped it across a miniature machine, almost like the ones from shops, and gave it back after he gruffed, "Car 8359 is free. It's not your go for the afternoon shifting times, so if your going to go for your break, hurry up."

I guess someone had woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

I snatched the card off him, and walked to the right, since I didn't know where the cars were. "Where are you going? I thought you wanted to get use a car." That pathetic guard sneered at me. I scowled at him, "I was going to see Jack to ask him what time his shift was." It was irritating, when I had to speak in a deeper voice. I didn't even know Jack, but it seemed like a somewhat common name. He scowled back at me, "If you want that car, then I suggest you head to get it now, otherwise someone else will get it before you. And Jack's most likely already there."

I scoffed at turned to walk to the other side of the building. I just walked besides the wall since I wasn't sure where to go exactly. It took a couple of minutes, but I came to the back of the labs building. I found about eleven black cars parked in a cleared space, and there were eight guards standing around. By the end of the cleared space, was a space for the cars to drive, and it probably went round the building, back to the front. "Hey," I heard one of them shouting, as he looked in my direction.

Was he talking to me? Sugar!

"What?" I shouted back, and I struggled to maintain the deep voice whilst I shouted. He jogged until he was a few feet away from me, and then stopped. (A.N: it's social distancing every one, that's right, even my characters have to do social distancing. XD) "My shift time is in two hours."

Oh god, I think it's Jack - he's real - oh my god.

I cleared my throat, "Yeah uh ok." He nodded, "Which car?" "Car 8359." I told him quickly. He got out his walkie talkie, and muttered a couple of things into it and then faced me again, but he had a more judge look on his face. "Where's your walkie talkie?" He asked. "Oh, Chris has got it. He needed to fix it." I said absentmindedly. "Chris?" He talked to himself and then me, "Isn't that your name?" "Y-yeah I meant Christopher, I'm sure he works indoors." I hoped he wasn't going to question any further.

"Right, the first car in the second row. You know the rest." He threw some car keys to me, which I caught, then walked back to where the other guards were. I hurried to the car that he referred to and unlocked it. Sitting inside, I tried to put the key into the ignition slot, but it only went in half way. Either I had the wrong keys, or it was jammed. But if it was jammed somehow, I'm sure the car wouldn't have been parked here.
