"Be careful with that! Geez, you're gonna owe me a new set of transfer wires when we're done with this." Leo complained.

Leo had driven me to Piper's because she had a Green Team meeting after school. It felt funny being in her house without her, but Leo seemed right at home.

"Relax" I told him.

"I still can't believe we're about to throw a real party, like ones from the movies and stuff."Leo said while fidgeting with an HDMI port behind the television.

"Yeah, well. Its Percy, Mr. Popular, who knew he had so many friends." I didn't meant to sound like I was complaining, but it came out that way anyway.

"I swear, you need to loosen up, you're almost as bad as Jason." He grunted out.

"You alright back there?" I questioned Leo

"Just fine, dealing with a skew routing wire, hows your end coming along?" He called over to me.

"Pretty good," I said, feeling confident "you know, they should let us into the audio visual club" I joked.

Leo laughed "Yeah, thats gonna happen." Leo said sarcastically. "Those guys are a bunch hoitty toitty nerds."

"As opposed to you? A mechanic car obsessed nerd?" I teased him.

Leo poked his head out and gave me a look "Listen, machines, engines, they make sense. People, clubs, teamwork, relationships that's whats unreliable." He explained.

"Careful," I warned him, "you're starting to sound a lot like Nico there."

Leo laughed.

"I take you and Caly aren't going so well then?" I asked him, remembering how she greeted him in class earlier today.

Leo shrugged "Jury's still out, love may be on the horizon for the Valdezinator."

Piper walked in on that and laughed at the nickname he'd given himself.

"I can't help with most of this stuff but I did bring you some snacks." She brought us some water and a couple bags of chips.

"Gee, thanks mom." Leo said getting down from his stool and grabbing a bag.

"How was Green Team?" I asked Piper.

The question seemed to stress her out, she sighed heavily before responding.

"It was good, fine i guess. We're organizing a protest against this new development downtown. They're about to demolish a local grocery store. It's going to put a bunch people out of jobs." Piper exclaimed, like she was nervous about it.

"Okay, well a protest should be good for you green-beans." Leo commented. He had coined that endearing name last year, Piper and Hazel wouldn't admit it, but I think they kind of like it. "Whats got you so down about it?" He asked in between crunchy dorito bites. He might not think he was good with people, but with Jason and Piper, Leo could read them pretty easily.

Piper shifted "Its just... the developers are.. um, well they're family friends." Piper mentioned quickly.

I got it then, and it clicked it in my mind that Piper must know who Rachels family is. After all she had known her longer than anyone else.

I nodded thoughtfully, pretending I didn't know what she was talking about.

"Anyway, hows projection for the video coming?" Piper asked, changing the subject and walking over to Leo's station.
