ARTHUR
I looked at the person in front of me. The one who took my heart away 4 years ago. The one who made me life living hell.
I never thought I would see her again after all these years. I thought I had gotten over the anger, but I was wrong. Because what I felt right was more than anger. I felt like I nearly burst. I had got mixed feelings seeing her again. Surprised. Confused. But mostly anger.
Jessy stood there, in front of me, like she didn't just break my heart 4 years ago, leaving me alone at the altar. I took a good look on her. She still looked the same, but thinner and paler without make up. My self 4 years ago would still find her beautiful, but not when she had tainted my heart 4 years ago.
Suddenly I felt the need to kick her out of the room, from my sight. After all these years, she had the nerve to show me her face again. I didn't know what she wanted or why she came back after all these years, but one thing I was absolutely for certain was that I no longer care about her reasons.
"After 4 years, leaving me at the altar, you have the nerve to show me your face?" I spat, no longer care that I was being rude to her.
She looked surprised with my tone of voice, I was never one to spat at her, let alone raised my voice at her. She looked nervous, I could tell.
"What do you want now? Do you need money? Is that it?"
Her eyes quickly snapped at mine, she furrowed her eyebrows. "Arthur, you knew I never care about your money."
Once upon a time, I had believed she never cared about my money. But once upon a time was a long time ago. She searched something in my eyes, but she could no longer find it. Not anymore.
"I don't know you. After all this time, I actually don't know you."
She flinched. "Arthur, I know you hate me and I deserve that. But please, let me explain."
"What makes you think I will listen to whatever bullshits you're going to say?"
She let out a sigh. "I know I made the biggest mistake by leaving you on our wedding, but please, just.. let me explain to you everything."
"I don't need to hear anything that comes from your mouth, if anything it's all fucking bullshits. 4 years too late, huh?" she was delusional if she thought I would listen to her bullshit. "You know where the door is, leave!"
"Arthur, please-"
"I said LEAVE!" I raised my voice at me, making her flinched.
Once upon a time, I didn't dare to raise my voice at her. But again, once upon a time was a long time ago.
She was on the verge of tears, I hated seeing those tears in her eyes but right now I didn't care.
"I'm not leaving until you listen to me."
"You've given me no choice then." I picked up the phone and dialed Mark's number. "Mark, call the security right now."
"Arthur, I just need 10 minutes of your time."
"Leave, Jessy."
"Please.."
"I don't want to use violence. Leave."
"I have brain tumor!" she exclaimed.
It made me stopped. I looked at her for a second. "Liar. I'm not going to fall for your lies again."
She sighed then did something which surprised me. She took off her brunette wig, something I had thought was her real hair, showing her not-so-bald head. It took me off guard. I knew she was honest this time, no one would have shaved their heads off like this, not even Jessy. After all, I knew her once.
