ARTHUR

My son had instantly become an important part in my life.

Learning the fact that I had become a father to Josh had been graceful. And I happened to get to know my son even more each days, learning what he liked and disliked.

Josh was a sweet boy. He was smart and patient as well. He would hug me as often as he could whenever I was around, it made me the happiest that my son loved my company. He also would cry whenever I had to leave, hence why I would leave just after he fell asleep after I spent the day with him.

Jessy once told me that there was a time when Josh surprised her by asking her where 'daddy' was. Josh just turned 2 and a half year when he first asked her that, and she showed him my photo, telling him it was 'daddy'. She also told me she often mentioned me to Josh so Josh would know his father. I was grateful that she didn't keep me as his father to him.

Meanwhile, my relationship with Jessy had started getting well. I had learnt to forgive her and slowly getting there, though I would never forget what she had done. There was still some awkwardness between us but we only spoke to each others when it was necessary.

Jessy was not always there in the same room when I visited. She gave me as much privacy and time as she could for me to bond with Josh, which I was grateful for. I hadn't talked to her much except when it came to Josh.

"Okay, which one do you prefer, buddy. This one, or this one?" I asked Josh, showing him Paw Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines toys. Of course Josh would pick Paw Patrol. "Ah I see you love dogs more than cars."

Josh cheered as he took Chase's toy figure. "Paw Patlol!"

I smiled proudly as I watched my son playing with his new toy that I just bought for him. I had been spoiling him lots with toys and affection. I loved giving gifts to him, it made him and I happy.

"I want Paw Patlol dog." Josh said, sitting on my lap.

"We will get you a dog when you are older, okay?"

"Okay!"

Jessy shook her head, watching us. "You spoil him a lot, Arthur."

I kissed the side of Josh's head. "I love him. I'd do anything for him."

"Okay, but try not to spoil him too much, he's growing."

I nodded my head. "Sure, but right now let him be happy."

After a few hours, Josh had fallen asleep in my arms. I glanced at my wristwatch to see it was already 6 P.M. I had to head home too. So I carried Josh to his room, carefully placing him on his bed before kissing his forehead and left the room quietly.

Going downstairs, I got ready to go back home. Jessy was in the kitchen, washing the dishes. I had thought about bringing Josh to meet my parents. It had been 2 weeks since I found out about him and I hadn't told my parents that they had a grandchild.

Truthfully, I was worried about their reaction, but knew I had to tell them sooner or later. I didn't want to keep my son from knowing his grandparents. They deserved to know each others.

"You're going home?" Jessy asked she spotted me.

I nodded my head. "Yes, but first, I need to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"I want to take Josh to meet my parents."

I didn't know how my parents would react when they knew Jessy came back, with our son. But the sooner I told them the better.
