THEA

"How long will you be in the office?" I asked as Arthur dropped me off to my old house.

"I'm not sure, I need to take care of some work. I'll text you when everything wraps up."

"Okay. I won't be long here too anyway."

"Call Felix to pick you up."

I shook my head. "No need. It's Sunday, let him have a day off. I can always grab a taxi, it's not that far to our house."

"Okay, but text me when you get home, okay?"

"Alright. See you later, babe." I leaned in and kissed him before getting out of the car.

He rolled the window down and waved at me. I watched as he drove away to his office.

I walked into the house-which now became the home-school and greeted Alisha, my assistant, at the front desk.

"Hey, Thea." Alisha greeted me as she spotted me. "Haven't seen you in a while."

I gave her a side hug. "Hey, how have you been, Alisha?"

Alisha was the one I trusted to take care of the home-school when I was not around. She had managed everything with the help of my other staff, Janice. They did a great job managing the program.

Alisha informed me the progress of our home-school. We already had 25 families in total to participate, and another 4 families whom had given us a call to come over. I smiled, thinking how happy my parents would be if they knew their house had become a school for these children.

"You did so great, Alisha. I can always count on you." I patted her shoulder.

"Thank you, Thea. I'm just doing my job."

I nodded. "Thank you, by the way. Get back to work then, I'm just going to look through things."

I spent the next hour observing the house, looking through documents, and stuff. I wrote a list of things I needed to purchase for the home-school. I also decided to clean my parents' bedroom and rearranged some stuff. It had started to get dusty as the room was left untouched for months since I last came here.

When I was done, I sat on the bed and looked around the room. I had to admit, I had missed my parents. It had been a while since I last visited their resting place.

Perhaps I should visit them on my way home.

I walked out of the room and locked the door before bidding my goodbye to Alisha.

"I'll text you the list of things I'm going to purchase for the school, you can add the list with the things you think we need."

She nodded. "Noted."

I left the house, about to call a taxi when I spotted someone stood by the fence. I halted on my tracks and sucked in breath as I recognized the person.

It can't be..

"Tony?"

The man looked at me with anguish. Suddenly the memories of our friendship flashed in my eyes. I couldn't believe my eyes. I finally saw him again after all these years. The man who broke my heart and left me alone.

He stepped ahead, his hands shoved in his pockets. "How have you been, Thea?"

How have I been? A lot. A lot had happened since he left.

"You came back." I didn't answer his question.

"I did."

"You cut me off. You cut our friendship off."
