susa.x:  why do I always find myself up at 2am?

susa.x:  all the bad life choices

susa.x:  I'm going to be so tired tomorrow at school

emma.x:  have you tried meditation?

emma.x:  that might help you sleep.  or yoga?

susa.x:  oh hey emma :)

emma.x:  hi

susa.x:  everything okay?

emma.x:  I'd just kind of prefer to be m right now

susa.x:  okay :)

susa.x:  hey m :)

emma.x:  hey susa :)

susa.x:  tell me a story

emma.x:  ??

susa.x:  to help me sleep

susa.x:  like a bedtime story

emma.x:  oh, I guess so...

emma.x:  I doubt it will be any good tho...

susa.x:  I'm sure it will be brilliant

emma.x:  well, are you're sitting comfortably?

susa.x:  defiantly comfortable

emma.x:  then I shall begin

emma.x:  a long long time ago

emma.x:  about last tuesday

emma.x:  a little girl was at the park with her mum

emma.x:  she noticed a stranger wearing a woman's blouse even though they looked like they were male

emma.x:  the stranger was tall and slim with defining male features, a sharp jawline and prominent adams apple

emma.x:  she was sat on one of the swings in a summery dress with sandals and blonde hair in pigtails

emma.x:  she watched the stranger sit on the edge of the roundabout and noticed that they looked sad

emma.x:  so she went over to them and stuck out her hand bravely to introduce herself to them as 'alicia'

emma.x:  when she asked what was wrong, the stranger told her that people had told them that they weren't supposed to wear clothes like the ones they were wearing, that it wasn't right

emma.x:  alicia looked them up and down with her brow furrowed in determination and she told them that the people were right, that their outfit wasn't right

emma.x:  hearing her say that broke the stranger's heart a little.  it hurt to be told that what they like to wear wasn't right, especially from a child

emma.x:  but then the little girl did something unexpected

emma.x:  she reached up into her own hair and removed a small pink hairclip with a heart-shaped button attached before leaning over to messily press it into the strangers hair

emma.x:  "there," she said.  "now you're a princess too."

emma.x:  that little girl showed a stranger kindness and acceptance and, without even knowing it, saved their life with a hairclip

emma.x:  that stranger hadn't planned to see the sun rise but that night they went to bed with a smile on their face instead of a weight on their chest.  the end :)

susa.x:  I like that story

susa.x:  I told you it would be great :)

susa.x:  hey m? can i ask you a question?

emma.x:  sure

susa.x:  is that a true story?  did you really plan not to see the sun rise?

emma.x:  yeah.  but now I know that things will get better

emma.x:  I've got the clip to remind me that some people will accept me for me

susa.x:  I'll always accept you m :)

susa.x:  even if you are secretly a serial killer

susa.x:  I'll make sure they use your preferred name and pronouns in court if you're ever caught :)

emma.x:  thank you?

susa.x:  you're welcome :)

susa.x:  I'm going to sleep now

susa.x:  goodnight m :)

emma.x:  sweet dreams susa

emma.x:  and it's mikey :)
