Shiv's POV:
"A week vacation?" I asked Satvik as we took seats in the club 'Retro Disco' and he nodded. The music in the club was low enough for us to have a descent conversation without having to yell.
"And, Yashvi would also be there!" he said making me almost choke on my beer.
"Of course!... She's a part of the family too!" I said.
"I know! Now tell me, what do I do?"
I took a deep breath before finally speaking, "If I were you, I would talk to her,"
"What?" he looked at me as if I were a mad person.
"Yes!.... I would talk to her and tell her that I don't have any feelings for her now," I said casually.
"What!? Why would you do that?" he asked puzzled.
"Because, there is no other way to make her feel comfortable around you. As long as she thinks that you like her, nothing is going to be like before. And if she's not comfortable, then, sooner or later, your parents are probably gonna grow suspicious.... and then you know what will happen,"
"How?" he asked after pondering for a few minutes.
"Well, I know it's hard but, just try to act normal around her. Create a believable story, clear out everything with her. Tell her that..... that it was just infatuation and that you don't feel like that for her anymore," I told him.
"Hmm... So basically, I need to lie to her,"
"Well, maybe. You can say that. But, if a lie can fix the relationship between you two, then I would say go ahead," I said and he fell in deep thought.
"Bro, look, I understand how you must be feeling, but, don't you think, this is unfair. I mean, she was your best friend... and friendship doesn't ends just because of these stupid feelings. You know how I am right? Friends are my life!... And I cannot imagine my life without even one of you guys!... So think about how, Yashvi, must have felt, when suddenly, the person whom she trusted the most.... her best friend, suddenly started staying distant from her, without even saying anything. Just because, she doesn't loves you, doesn't mean that you will break all the other relationships with her!... If you truly love her, then learn to stay happy in her happiness!... Are you getting me?"
The thing that I had been meaning to say to him since a long time, I finally said it.
