Satvik's POV :

After college when I reached home, I saw my mom talking to someone on call.

Her back was facing towards me and the way she was talking, I knew it was Dad.

I smiled at the way they were arguing, they are so cute!

It looked like Dad had promised to help her with something but he forgot to come.

I shook my head and decided to go straight to my room without disturbing her.

As I started climbing up the stairs, my mom called out my name.

I turned around and she said while walking closer to me, "Hey honey, when did you get home?"

"Just now." I replied.

She nodded. "So how was your day?"

"Good." I said.

“Did you eat something?” she asked and I shook my head.

"Okay, go get fresh and then come downstairs. I'll get something for you to eat. What would you like to have?" she said.

"Anything! And can I eat in my room?..... I'm a little tired." I said.

"Yeah sure!" she said.

I smiled and turned around to run upstairs after saying thank you but stopped when my mom again called out my name.

"Yeah!" I said after turning around.

"I just gave a transformation to Yashvi's room!! I love it! Go check!.... And tell me how is it!" she said excitedly.

My body froze just by the mention of her name.

The whole day I had been trying not to think about her and now my mom was asking me to go to her room.

The place where we both had shared so many memories.

"No actually I have a little work." is what I wanted to say but, "Yeah sure!", is what I actually said.

I turned around and slowly made my way towards her room upstairs. As I reached the door of her room I stopped.

'Should I lie to Mom?', I thought but immediately dropped the idea because I hate lying to Mom.

I kept staring at the door for a few minutes and then decided not to think much and just entered the room.

As I started looking around, I realized that a lot of things were changed in her room from last time.

I used to come to her room a lot earlier but later I realized that it does nothing but hurts.

The last time I came to her room was six months ago after she left.

The curtains, the bedsheet and even the paint on the walls was different than earlier.

Many indoor plants which were not there earlier were now kept nicely in her room and these things made me realize that she would be here very soon.

I felt really happy but sad at the same time.

'I wish she loved me too!', I thought.

Then my eyes fell on a wall, I walked and stood in front of the wall.

That wall had many quotes written on paper, stuck on it along with many pictures.

Pictures of family, friends, cousins and her alone, a fairy light was also hung on the wall above the pictures.

My eyes stopped on one picture, it was of us together.

We were sitting on the stairs and we both had a smile on our faces.

I remembered, that picture was taken in my house when she and her mother came to have lunch with me and Dad.

After 7 years finally Dad had decided to marry someone. I was really happy for him but then it all changed.

Now I missed her, I missed her so much.

I felt like my feelings ruined everything, I lost not only my love but my best friend too.

I remembered how we used to be earlier. As I stared at that picture my mind flew back to the day I first met her.

2 YEARS BACK

I was in 11th standard. I entered my tuition teachers house chatting and laughing with Mohit  not realizing that we were so loud, we were getting everyone's attention.

My tuition teacher was a woman in her thirties. We both were stunned when suddenly she shouted, "Satvik! Mohit! Quiet!"

We both looked at her and together apologetically said, "Sorry Mam!".

She said it's ok and asked us to sit down.

Our tuition teacher used to teach in the living room. We used to sit on the 8 seater dining table.

There were only 4 students in our batch including me and Mohit.

As we moved our eyes from our teacher to the seats, we noticed two new students.

They both were girls. Then we both remembered that our teacher told us that 2 new student would be joining us.

They both were in 10th standard and since there were just 2 students of that standard, the teacher decided to keep them in the 11th standard batch.

I walked closer to the dining table and sat beside one of the new girl.

I glanced at her, she was busy studying. I took out my book and started studying too.
