Later that day, the fashion show started at 6:30 pm. Seats were arranged for teachers and judges only, so everyone else had to stand.
All the models started walking the runway one by one. Everyone looked amazing.
"I must say, however, Riya, is as a person, she really is a good fashion designer." Raadha said as Shiv walked the runway.
"Agreed. She made, Shiv, actually look good," Aarushi said while looking at Shiv, receiving a chuckle from Raadha.
"By the way, where is, Kaushik? Is he not coming?" Aarushi inquired.
"Well, I don't know. I had called him before leaving my house. He said he is on his way, but I haven't seen him since I came here. Wait, let me call him." Raadha said while dialing his number.
After talking for a few seconds Raadha hung up.
This whole time, Aarushi was staring at the models but her ears were focused on Raadha's conversation with Kaushik.
"What did he say?" Aarushi asked as Raadha hung up.
"He said he's with Shanaya." as Raadha said that, Aarushi's face dropped off.
Now you must be wondering that who the hell is this Shanaya, who made Aarushi to feel this way. Well, Shanaya is one of the most popular girl in the college. She is the captain of the cheerleaders group. Many guys in college had a crush on her and Kaushik was not an exception. And the catch here is that she liked Kaushik, too. Kaushik had asked her to go out on a date with him and finally she said yes.
"What's wrong?" Raadha asked, seeing sudden change in Aarushi's expression.
"Huh! What?.... Nothing."
"You okay?"
"Yeah! I'm good."
"Okay... well then... Can I ask you something?" Raadha asked.
"Yeah sure."
"Do you like Kaushik?"
Aarushi was dumbfounded. She never told anyone about this not even her best friend Raadha.
She met Kaushik and Raadha in college. She bonded really well with Raadha and soon both became best friends. Kaushik and Raadha were best friends that is why she had to hang out with him too but she didn't like him. But slowly her feelings changed and she started liking him. But she just doesn't know how to show her feelings that is why she always teases him. No one understood but this was her way of getting his attention and to talk to him.
"What?! No... No, I don't."
"Well, if you don't wanna tell me then that's okay but.. I'll give you a small advice.. if you like him, do something, before its too late because I know he likes you. I mean I don't know if you have noticed but whenever you tease, he never gets angry!.... He gets irritated, he gets annoyed but he never gets angry or shout at you. He just hasn't realized his feelings yet because you know he's just dumb... I'm your friend..... best friend and I care for you!.. I really don't wanna see you regret it later.... and if you need any help just tell me, I'm always here for you."
After hearing this Aarushi's eyes teared up and her lips curved up in a smile. She got very emotional, she wondered how Raadha could guess what's going on in her mind and heart, maybe that's why she's her best friend.
She felt guilty for not telling her about this. She just hugged her tightly and said in her ears, "I love you and I'm sorry".
"It's okay, I love you too," Aarushi just hugged her more tightly.
They both went to have snacks, after they heard the announcement that the first round had ended and the second round would start after half an hour and till then the college band would entertain the guests.
They talked only about Aarushi and Kaushik, while eating. Then, Raadha suddenly felt an urge to pee.
As they both were about to leave for washroom Kaushik came.
"Hey! I thought you were with Shanaya." Raadha teased him.
"Yeah I was and... that is when I realized...." Kaushik started.
"What?" Aarushi said.
"That I don't belong there."
Exactly, cause you belong with me'. Aarushi sang the song by Taylor Swift in her mind.
"What does that mean?" Raadha said.
"Well, I just realized that she is too classy for me." Kaushik admitted.
Raadha and Aarushi looked at each other. They both wanted to smile but they controlled themselves.
"So does that mean you don't like her anymore?" Raadha said.
"I like her but I don't wanna date her anymore."
"Oh! That's ok. Everything happens for good you know. Maybe, she is not the one." Raadha said.
"Yeah! Maybe."
"You know what they say, that you can find your soulmate anywhere and anytime. You just need to open your eyes, your ears and your heart too....and look around carefully so that you don't miss them." Raadha she said very dramatically.
"Wow!" Kaushik said, smiling.
"Thank you! Now stop talking and start looking, if you want you may take Aarushi's help.... I'll just be back from the washroom." Raadha winked at Aarushi and left.
"Ok! So tell me what type of girl do you like?" Aarushi asked very sweetly. Kaushik noticed this sudden change in her behavior but didn't say anything.
"After this, I guess someone who is a little less classy." Kaushik said making both of them chuckle.
"Ok, noted. Anything else sir?"
"Well, first of all I would like to have something or else I'll faint." Kaushik said trying to change the subject.
