LISA'S POV

I knew my actions were childish, and I realized that the moment I drove off from the office premises. Nevertheless, there was no going back as I had made up my mind in the morning after I had seen Oscar and Raya that close.

I had already sent a text to Dave in the morning.
Me--You're a lucky guy..I think I changed my mind. Alice can just go to hell... Lol.

Oscar's words replayed I'm my head, "....so three nights ago was nothing too?"
Of course it was something! A lot of things, one being that, I was feeling different about him now. Initially, I had completely tuned my mind to forgetting about him. Working with him sort of didn't change anything, until we started getting intimate---- especially three nights ago.
But it would be a shame for me to pretend he was just a rebound, because he wasn't. I actually felt some reignition, a spark, stronger than anything I had felt for him earlier.

I was rather ashamed to admit it, when I had already resurrected Dave's hopes...I know, I was to quick to conclude.

I knew my insecurities were beginning to define me, outlining my entirely erratic persona.

My phone rang loudly, snatching me from floating state of reverie. I glinted sharply at the screen and back to the road. It was Dave, calling me on facetime. I just smiled and declined it. The call came through again and again, I declined.

A sassy little thing I was being.

As relentless as he is, he called again, but I answered this time. "Hey" he greeted in a low time, rubbing his head, which was glowing under the brilliance of fluorescent light.
"Hi", I looked behind him.... He was at my door! "What are you doing there?"

He chuckled,"waiting for you to return"

"And you've been there for how long?"

"It doesn't matter.. What matters right now is, I'm the happiest man in the whole universe right now!"

"I didn't accept this marry you Dave.... Calm your guts down"

He laughed at my attempted joke.....

"I'm still the happiest man in the universe"

I just smiled, "so... See you in like..."I looked at my watch, "five?"

"Sure".

**********

"I've got a surprise for you, you've got five minutes to change", Dave said and grinned

"See who's being bossy...okayyy"
I removed my black heels and wobbled into the bedroom. I changed into a black turtle neck top over a pair of blue denim trousers. I held my hair in place, applying a little more gel on it. "You look amazing... I've got something for you"

"Really?---what?"
"Turn around", I rolled my eyes and did so, smiling... My heart racing, a little. He put a silver chain around my neck, and when I looked down at it, a small diamond shone in my face, I smiled, like Cinderella when she finally entered the castle as a wife. I turned round again facing him. "It's beautiful, thank you, I love it"

"No.... thank you"

"What for?"

"For everything", for he planted a kiss on my forehead, "now come on, let's go".
He held me by my wrist and led us out. I locked my door behind me.

"Where are we even going?" I asked when we began our ride. He just increased the volume of the music and smiled, playing deaf to my question.

"I should just prepare myself for my death tonight, then", I joked
