While I was still reminiscing my gay childhood days, the doors burst open suddenly causing my head to pop up involuntarily. There was Oscar, drenched in water, like in the movies when the hero will just appear out of nowhere, head high, chest out to end all woes and troubles. I rose to my feet immediately while he strode towards me, his hair glued to his face, dripping wet. I was surprised. How did he even find me?I was about telling him where I was when my network failed, right?
His lips spread across his face and I couldn't help but return it. "Are you okay?" He asked, a little frantically but his eyes solemn. I nodded vigorously, "c'mon let's get out of here", he grabbed me by my wrist and led me out. Outside, the rain poured crazily hitting the ground like the whips of a rod, lightning flashing across my face.
Oscar ran ahead and opened the passenger door for me. I climbed in and closed the door as he rounded the car and got inside too.
We both sat quietly and all that could be heard was the sound of the rain beating the steel body of his Hyundai Santa Fe."How did you even find me?" My breath shook, vapour emanating from my mouth as I spoke.
"You're welcome.." he said looking right ahead.
I laughed slightly, "thank you...but seriously though, how did you find me?"
"I tracked your cell.... It's a part of our profession, Lisa seems you've forgotten"
" That was a dumb question..."
He drove through the rain with care as the storm had become fierce. The streets were almost empty and dark, all cafes and other shops had closed. Few people ran helter skelter trying to escape the unforgiving storm.
"Thank you" I said, still clutching my coat to myself. He nodded. I laid back in my seat looking out the window at the storm, the street lights glistened in the rain.

We managed to run into my apartment building hand in hand, soaking wet, after waiting pointlessly for the storm to calm down. Breathing heavily, we waited a while at the lobby before getting into the elevator.
I combed through my purse with shaky hands for my key and opened my door. Oscar followed right behind as I entered. I took off my wet coat and hung it on one of the hooks.
"I'll get you some dry clothes" I offered and he just laughed, "I've got some t-shirts...and some sweatpants, they'll fit", I said as if to answer a question he's asking himself like, which clothes of mine could he wear?
He came all the way to get me, I couldn't just let him go back home that wet. Moreover the storm was getting fiercer.I opened my wardrobe and fished out a gray t-shirt and it's matching pants. I held them out, making sure not to get them wet. Walking back to the living room, I handed them over to him and directed him to the washroom. He muttered "thanks" and walked past me. I followed him and turned into my bedroom to change too.
He was already seated in the living room when I came out, his semi dried hair hanging loose down the nape of his neck, some strands on his face.
That always killed me...God!!!
I set on the table some pizza I had just zapped. We took slices and ate in silence. He looked right ahead and I was thankful he didn't give me that weird stare which always crept through my bones and clutched my heart. "Mind telling me what happened?", He asked, turning to me with his mouth still full.
"You don't talk with your mouth full, gentleman" I said calmly and he laughed.
"Yes ma'am"
I smiled and shook my head.
"So... mind telling me what happened?", He asked again"Well, as you just witnessed, my date never showed up", I looked away, ashamed of admitting that to him.
"Just like that?"
"Just like that..tried calling him several times, his phone was off"
"He had the guts to do that to you?"
"He must have his reasons, he.. he doesn't disappoint"
"Well, he just did!", He sounded annoyed.
I took a sharp glance at him and back to the pizza lying lifelessly on the plate on my lap. "What happened to your car?""Broke down at an unknown street"
"We'll get it tomorrow"
One of the things I loved about Oscar, he spoke with so much power and confidence.
We both sat in eerie silence chewing on our food. When I finished all my slices, I took the plates into the kitchen.
"Can I spend the night? I don't think the storm will permit me out there. " It was agreeable, the storm had no intention of stopping soon and I wouldn't have been that wicked to let him out there after what he just did for me. "Don't worry, I'll stay here on the couch, it's much comfy" he tapped the couch and I giggled.
"Sure, I'll get you some blankets". I ambled into the room and returned with a heavy coffee-coloured blanket.
He made to take the blanket but instead, grabbed my wrist and I looked up at him. His eyes bore into mine and I just couldn't look away. That magnetic kind of force in his dark green pair of eyes...
He was indeed my devil..
He lowered his face to mine, our eyes still in contact. I cursed myself when my palms got sweaty, giving me away.
Before I became aware of my actions, I was standing up on the toes of my feet, catching up. Our lips came crashing into each other. I closed my eyes and gave way for the heat between our bodies to warm me.For a moment, I melted into his strong arms and danced to the beat, a fulfilling beat. I opened my eyes slowly and laid my hand on his chest, breaking the touch of our lips, "I need to get to bed...I'm tired", my heart raced even as I said those words, because I really didn't mean them, I didn't want the moment to end.
"Yeah, sure" he said, ruffling his hair
"Yeah..so here" , I gave him the blanket and turned to leave
"Goodnight", he called behind me. As much as I wanted to ran back to him and dine on his savoury minty lips, I also didn't want to fall back deeper, deeper than I could ever imagine. I knew there was Dave and I thought I was so over Oscar, but I wasn't sure anymore.
So I walked away without looking back.
So our main man is back!!!
I'm excited about how things are going... I don't know about you😁Thanks for sticking with me..I love you❤️❤️...let's move!!!
